I read that the more you open and close jpeg files, the more they will deteriorate and someone suggested saving all photos at a .tiff file? Anyone have some insight or help with this?

files, in general, do not deteriorate over time in any manor thta is preventible. the only way deterioration occurs is file coruption, deletion, fragmentation, etc; and ALL files can be affected by these. High-quality jpeg is the best there is so far. tiff is generaly better only if you have multiple photos in an album of some sorts. bitmap (bmp) is an uncompressed file format, so it take up more space, but has superior wuality than anything else that is compressed like jpeg (tho with modern jpeg compression at high quality you will never notice the differance with the naked eye)

It's not opening and closing that deteriorates the file but actually resaving the file. If you think you'll be making a lot of changes to a photo file and saving often, I recommend first saving the file somewhere as a Bitmap (.bmp) which is the hugest memory waster but never deteriorates, making all your changes and saves, and when you are satisfied with it, resave it as a .jpeg file to use for uploading to the internet and stuff.

Computer files do not deteriorate at all. How can someone say that and you can beleive that. .jpg files are one of the most popular file formats esp. on the Internet as it saves a lot of space. It saves the pics ina compressed format thus saving a lot of space without much loss in picture quality. .tif files are also a good option, but there is no problem with jpg files either.

Only happens when they are saved, not when they are opened/closed because the image is comprssed to save size. I've heard that if you are going to be working on the image a lot and doing a lot of saves, tiff format is just fine, because it is not compressed during saving.

A few good comparisons...

sometimes you'll see that half of the picture will be slashed with a solid color, rare but happens files will be effected by fragments of other files. as stated before me dont save the file too much or the compression will keep having its way with the picture. tif is a good format

Will not deteriorate over time any more than any other type of file. If you open and re-save them THEN they will deteriorate.
It's the re-saving that does it, not the opening them.

there are one of those pdf creators on the internet can attempt this for you, you may acquire one to apply. in my opinion, i exploit simpo pdf author lite, that is a loose pdf author, it would want to create pdf record from jpeg and some different record formats like place of work be conscious, excel, and so on. even though it would want to in common words convert one record to pdf record at a time, so, in case you want to rework many jpeg information to pdf once and combine them right into a unmarried pdf, you may want their pdf author professional. besides, you may provide it a attempt.
