there is a painting where this girl is sitting upright in a large hayfield...it looks like she's fallen and is stretching to the horizon. there is a farmhouse in the background...and a path leading to it.

Look at all the junk today. You want to be open to all of it...go ahead.

I was open minded...landed me in jail. I was open to the idea that maybe drugs weren't so bad....maybe selling them is ok too......

I am happy to say if something doesn't line up with the word of G-d, I am closed to it. I will politely say "yeah, uh-huh" and disregard it.

Don't most stick to their beliefs anyhow even the "open minded" ?

I'm just being honest.

Plus G-d works on the heart and Satan can only enter through the mind. That is my belief, I know its not everyone's.

So isn't it better to be closed minded and open hearted??

David

...this is thought to result in cell senescence and apoptosis (cell death). Do you think this fact is enough to discredit Darwin's process of natural selection? Death would therefore be programmed into the geneome and be somrthing that had to be adapted for. What would be the selection advantage of death?

I got asked this question and was only able to trace use of red/green to railroad signals. The asker also said that the ancient Romans must have had a lot of traffic on the sophisticated roadways built (e.g. in Pompeii), so how did they control traffic at intersections? Does anyone have information that might help answer what the Romans did do?

Thanks in advance!

The story is about a guy waking up in an alternate world with wizards and ork type characters. He is wearing a white gold wedding ring that is all powerful in this world. It's kind of a cross between lord of the rings and narnia. The bad guys are trying to get the ring and he doesn't know what's going on, at times of peril the ring activates anfd gets him out of trouble. I'd like to find this series for my daughter, she just read Tolkiens books and is looking for another series along those lines. Any help would be appreciated, I know the description is vague but I'll take what I can get. Thanks

Sorry for such a morbid question, but I'm trying to find out which battle in world history resulted in the most number of people killed in one day. Wikipedia lists Stalingrad (WW2) as the battle with the greatest number of casualties, but it happened over about 6 months...

I bought these pieces of wood from a craft store and I want to paint them to give as a Christmas gift.
1. What type of paint should I use on wood?
2. People always say acrylic paint is the best, but every time I've tried before the paint won't dry on the wood, why?
3. I there some sort of coating I have to put on the wood before I paint and any coating I put over the paint after I finish? What are they called?

If you dance, are you a vegetarian? How long have you danced, and how long have you been a vegetarian?

I'm just curious, if it is something common in dancers, and if that helps them maintain their weight, or if they are for other reasons.

I am a veg, and I turned veg when 14, and have been dancing a little longer than 15 years.
