I love this type of book. My favorite author is Dean Koontz (especially his Odd Thomas series--I am getting Brother Odd for Christmas!). But I have read almost all of his book and am looking for some new books/authors to read now that I am finally done with college and have some time.

Thanks!

1. A Florence wife possessed a knowing smile,
and dark mysterious eyes that did beguile.
Her portrait "La Gioconda" rose to fame.
Although we know her by another name.

What is the more common name of Leonardo Da Vinci's famous painting "La Gioconda?" It's three words.

2. Please type (with care) Da Vinci's given name.

My friend doesn't know what to sing for her play try-outs. I need a well-known song that would be good for a try-out. Maybe like from a musical?

I took my fourth graders to see Seussical the musical, put on by middle schoolers. They LOVED it so much, I thought that we could put on a "mini" version of it. Just 5 of the songs and a much abridged version of the storyline. Do I HAVE to buy the rights to be able to put this on? (I know that the middle school did.) We would NOT charge admission to see it.

Please don't bother answering unless you REALLY know, or least think you know.

Also, any tips would be greatly appreciated. I've never put on a musical before, only chorus concerts. Remember - we are fourth graders, in a very high poverty - (many lead affected) area and we are keeping it simple.

i like reading and suggest improvements to ppl's poetry, actually ont his website. i like not knowing the person, so nothing's personal, and so they noe my identity and not my representation, like society today is forced to be judged on. i love poetry myself, and am deep.
but i read some of these, and they get ur tears going, or r philoshic, and i like that. i like poetry in general, so when i say this, it doesnt have to ryme:
but can someone write something, it has to be origanal. i wuld like to see that ppl actually had courage or took the time , even 2 mins to write something short, or long. to express themsleves, for inspiration, to let things go, and besides its easier than goignto the library and renting a book.
i noe its reely weird, but.....idk.....it could be two lines, just give me something that i'll feel some emotion, or soemthing to keep em thinking....

let go

I seem to remember a teacher saying that for whatever reason the Plague killed poor people and rich people alike. That doesn't make sense to me and I can't find any evidence about it so I was wondering if anyone knew if that was true and if so, why. Logic would tell me that the peasants would have it the worst.

As an Orthodox Jew, I celebrate Xmas. In recent years, I have been given the impression that Xmas is more about happiness and self-gratification than the birth of the anti-christ. I celebrate Xmas because it is so commercialized, and very few remember the Christian meaning of Xmas. Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings, Merry Xmas, I don't care. I am not an oversensative Jew!
