The answer is 42, as provided by Deep Thought. In computer terms, that is 101010.

It is obvious to me that the question must then be about balance! The universe must be balanced, as in for every "1" there is a "0". Given that we have 3 combinations of 1s and 0s, they must therefore represent the 3 pillars of the universe that must be balanced.

My question: what are those 3 pillars? Mass, space, energy? Good and evil? Religion and Science? Republican and Democrat? Help!!

I absolutely hate fantasy, but love everything else. I am not looking for a classic like Dickens, as I'm already reading Great Expectations. I'm looking for something with substance but not heavy, romance (NOT hot and heavy), and interesting plot lines. Basically-anything good you've read that is appropriate for a lit class. Thanks!!
