you know how they call the 1990's the 90's and the 1980's the 80's? what's this decade called? and what about the next decade?

I believe if we follow the patterns of the past that this decade is the aughts.The years from 1900 to 1910 were called the "aughts" because zeroes are also aughts.
The millenium refers to only the years 1800, 1900, 2000 (or if you want to quibble 1801, 1901 and 2001).

I have TOTALLY wondered that. In the turn of the 20th century, 1900-1910, they said, "The ot years" like 19-"ot"-five, 19-"ot"-eight.

We STILL say "two thousand six"...but some news anchor guys say "twenty oh six". So? Maybe we're the "oh's", "ot's", but I can't see it being the "thousands". Confusing!!
