Hi,
I am becoming a freelance writer. I want to specialize in design, technology, arts and culture. So, I am writing about technology issues, such as VoIP, online storage, social software, design issues, like usability or museum shows, and culture issues, such as the theater, music, etc. (I live in Manhattan, so I have easy access to hundreds of events, lectures, symposiums, etc.)

My question is, what do I put on my business card? Obviously, name, contact info (phone, email, address,) but what do I call myself? Author, writer, journalist? Do I be more specific, like "freelance design and technology journalist" or "design and technology journalism" or just plain writer, freelance writer, or author, or journalist? I am having a hard time deciding, and I feel funny calling myself any of those things, since I have not been published.

Help!

Haydn was known to have played in a street band in his younger years in Vienna. What kind of instruments would this band have included? I am thinking about getting a job at Borders Books and music, I was wondering if they have a good history of paying their employees well. Anyone who has worked there, or know someone who has worked there,...what is their pay rate? (I live in NY, so it will probably be different than someone in CA!) OK yesterday day i got fired from a job because i refused to call person an African American. like i told my boss right before he fired me to me there is no African Americans out there we are all American. and u don't see me calling myself a German American so why should i have to call them a African Americans. and further more none of them are even from Africa the guy that had me fired was from Chicago he was an American the same as me. i think that that term just causes a a bigger rift in us as a nation by that term because it still them rubbing the slavery issue in our face

sorry the whole reason it got started was i refured to one of my friends as black and this guy got all bent out of shape and and demanded i call my Friend African American. my Friend told me it didn't matter and we walked away but he went to the boss
