Is it morally (and according to who's morals) upstanding to interfere with even the potential of life? Because alot of the questions over abortion are when life begins, they need to be addressed. But even more complex is the question, is it our place in the universe, in this life or manifestation, to abort or interfere with the potential for an embryo to form, implant, develop, be born etc. If one were to answer no, then even birth control, or masturbation would be called into question as far as they are things which also could interfere with the potential for life. Bc preventing conception, and sexual gratification without the end result being conception, are they too immoral, and again, according to whose morals?

When it comes to abortion some questions that come to mind are when does a life become a life, are simple using someone as means to your own ends and are you balancing the greatest pleasure over pain for everyone involved? Is life being autonomous or being able to think rationally? Is life when the sperm meets the egg, when the heart beats, or when the baby is born? Do you truely believe in abortion or do you need a quick fix? If this is a quick fix are you simple using somone as means to your own end? Are you considering siblings grandparents the other parent?

The problem lies in the disagreement of when life begins.Does life began at conception? When you see a heartbeat? When you feel the first movements? Or not until after the actually journey through the birth canal? After that question is answered, then we can move on to reasons for such said abortion, which will only in fact rise to more questions.

The "problem" is that philosophers do not deal with "morality" per se, they may have an ethically appropriate behavior according to their philosophy's assumptions....
however, "moral" judgements are more in the realm of theologians, not philosophers...

I would suggest that you research "ethics"

A stem cell or fetus, knows nothing about morality or life...the potential mother knows one question," how is this going to impact me, my family, my future". One plus nothing equals one.
