Hi > I personaly do not really beleive in the thinking. Yet ..
Having just returned from my local shop, the good lady behind the counter guessed exactly, and I mean exactly what I was after.
How ? She said it is because I am a fellow Libran.
Whoah. I thought.
Is there something in all this that I have missed ?
I doubt it, but there you go with it ...
Cheers,
Bob.

I was on vacation a few weeks ago around Plymouth, MA and read something in an exhibition about how girls when growing up used to be tied to hardwood boards for several hours a day (not sure if they were laying down or standing up) to make their backs straighter as this was considered a good thing. Does anyone know if this is true or was common or uncommon.

I am a guy playing in part a girl role in a play (set in Elizabethan times) and I am really getting an insight into how badly women were treated through the ages. This was just another example if this is true.

I'm a college student not sure of my major patrly because I'm not sure its the right one for me. I am a type who is multifaceted. i planned to be a College Prof. and when I talked to my current professors, they told me although the job is great, it's a hard road on the way to getting a Master's or a Doc. degree. I feel passionate about the conection I feel when i interact with people on an intellectual level, whether I am listening or talking. Now, on the other hand, my mother wants me to bea doctor. She says I'll always have a job, and I wil be independent. The surplusses ofbeing a doctor is 1)the money 2)job security 3)helping ppl. I can do it, but I'm wondering..If I'm not passionate about something now,is there a chance I can learn to love it in the future? Will the money make anything better? I know money isnt everything, but barely surviving is a lot worse. My main perception of doctors are helpers of ppl. College Profs. tell me about ur job experiences love it? don't? Docs too?

As a species on this planet do we meet our responsibilty to it and to the rest of life?
Or are we all to selfish?
If we are selfish thats ok.
Can we admit it and grow out of it?

I bought a professionaly framed picture today by Jean Ekman Adams. It was framed/matted in Taos New Mexico. It has 5 horses getting ready for a race with jockey animals on their backs. Other animals are on a fence waiting for the race to start(possibly) with wager tickets in hands.
I would like to know the name of this artwork and when it was originally drawn/painted. It is quite nice and I am happy I found it at a thrift store here in Florida today. Many people get rid of great art work here in Florida...
I have found several examples of Jean Ekman Adams artwork but can not find this piece..Thanks in advance for any information..

I mean the Romans, Spanish, French, Persians, Mughals, Turks etc etc. all had their empires, secured in brutal conflicts. Why does everyone give the British a hard time? Is it cos the British were highly successful?

I'm taking an on-line course right now. There's not a lot of competition where I'm from. And from checking out their web-sites they don't have photos that come even close to mine. My friends and family have been puching me for awhile now to do something about this. I've done a lot of friends and family for a little money here and there. I am currently in a very stressful work environment and am looking for an alternative.

has society put a damper on being naturally happy with ourselves?

my take on happniess is that you have to always be happy with what you got cause if not you will never find what you are looking for

what do you want to accomplish befor you die??

Why do actors and actresses refuse to admit that what they do is unskilled labor and continue to think that they are somehow creative when all they do is follow what someone else has created?

The creative part is coming up with the story. They don't add anything artistic at all. All they do is follow the story. Thats like saying that the slave has control of the master. Gary larson is creative, Victor Hugo is creative, Motherwell is creative, jackson pollack is an artist, jimmy hendrix is an artist- they create, actors just follow what someone else creates, and do what the director tells them.
