Because of the realm of His existence. God dwells in Eternity, which is outside of and other than time, where we exist; this realm has no beginning and no end, whereas Time has a beginning and is moving towards an end. Once the plan of God is complete, then time will be no more and all things will begin to operate in Eternity, where God dwells.

The natural, or material realm, is also temporary, whereas God's realm is spiritual, or non-material. The natural realm is temporary; the spiritual realm is eternal, the birthing place of all things natural. Time and all natural things are moving towards a conclusion, winding up, wearing down, coming to an end. There will come a point when all things will be restored to God in the spiritual, eternal realm and "made new." This is the entire and complete purpose of salvation -- to bring an end to the temporary, sin-filled, decaying system of the natural realm and bring it into the eternal perfection of the spiritual realm with God. The eternal, spiritual realm is more "real" than our temporary, natural realm. When your spirit is reborn or regenerated, then you have a restored and growing ability to sense and operate in the spirtual (or non-material) realm, where God abides.

In order to tackle this question first it is necessary to talk briefly about what do we mean by "God". Is God a white-bearded old man floating in the sky/heaven or something else?. There can be different views on this. But the most profound description may be that God is the divinity inherent in the creation, the "intention" built in everything from the smallest inanimate pebble to the humans, the most complex and rationally evolved being. When we think of God we think of an immanent and transcendent power pervading the entire universe and from which everything flows. God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. This being the case there can never be any ephemeral attributions to Him. He is beyond decay and destruction. Anything material will decay in course of time. Time makes sense in the context of a reference frame; even time is not an absolute entity. As a result God cannot be material and non-eternal as he cannot be bound by the limitations of non-absolute.

God, the first Cause, is an entity, the ultimate source of goodness who always existed. Why does it have to be this way? It just is. Someone, something, some greater power had to create everything else. Even if you believe in the big bang theory, something caused the bang. Never heard the phrase "uncaused cause" but it makes sense. He just always was. No beginning, no end.

I see no reason.
If there was an uncaused cause (and I doubt it) it could have just been a catalyst that was destroyed in the act of starting the chain of causation, far as I'm concerned.

He is the nonmaterial because he wants to be. But He's made you material and given u a material world and life just so that you have your own world--to rule and dominate it. So what is his purpose in your life? To help you do it, he helps and guides you to live a constructive life. And He's eternal becasue because he is the beginning and the end of all or nothing.

Well, that's basically the Christian definition of God. As the supposed Creator of the Universe,He pretty much has to be
an eternal Spirit. Otherwise He wouldn't be God.

That just happens to be the type of god that Judaism and Islam subscribe to. There are different theologies available around the planet. The LDS church, for example, believes this god used to be a man, and men now may become gods. Shop around, you have LOTS of choices on planet earth ! ( Including Buddhism with no god )

Nothing exists that is not GOD. God visualized all of creation, then out of himself released his vision of the allness of himself into manifestion through the big Bang, scientist now say even time came out of the big bang. this process of creation is still going on.the universe is still expanding. Some call this process evolution.Evolution is the proof that God is hard at work manifesting his creation. All of creation could be called an sophisticated holograph of the allness of GOD. all things manifested will in the end merge back into what we call GOD. as a raindrop merges into the ocean.

If in the mortal configuration, He would be in a position of having to explain Himself to other mere mortals. Where would faith be entered into the picture? How would that make Him any different than anyone else?

There are reasons beyond the ability of the intellect to understand. We have been told those things deeper will be given us, even the deeper things of God. We will eventually have understanding.
