I just bought a Fujica STX-1 film camera yesterday and the film advance lever won't advance.

Also, last night, the viewfinder was working fine. I was haivng fun, focusing, even without any film to possibly get a picture. And then this morning, I can't see anything through it.

Are these two things fixable? There is a camera repair shop about a mile away from my house. And if they are able to be fixed, how much do you think it would cost?

Besides that, anyone have tips for using a Fujica STX-1?

My grandmother has a painting , which by her estimates is over 100 years old and originated in Italy. It is a painting of a ballerina and is signed by the artist Bendel. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of him or if this piece might have any value at all. She is trying to sell it to offset some of her health care costs. Please let me know if anyone has any knowledge of the artist BENDEL. This is a very large piece and I believe that it is an oil painting. Thank you in advance for your help.

just a timeline would be sufficient. Not for publications, just research.
appropriate footnoting will be done.

There's lot of great children's literature over the past century or three, but mostly from the British. I just want to know about the greatest American children's literature of all time. It doesn't matter if you name one or ten or even twenty, just the greatest would do.

For example, I HATE spiders. If I see one, I shriek like a little girl and run away flailing. I know it's irrational but even after telling myself this throughout my entire life, it still doesn't matter! Where do you think these strange phobias come from?

Painted in 1914, it consists of six figures sitting around a table in a veranda by the sea. One of them is a clown in white costume and make-up.There is also a woman with black short hair, standig behind the table and a man in a hat, smoking a cigarette, sitting alone in a small table in tha front left. Do you know the title of this work?I read that it belongs to the Whitney Museum of American Art, NY but cannot trace it... Please, any info will be welcome. Thanks

If you identify with being,
first,
then as being human.
With who are you in conflict?
If we left it there and added nothing where might we be?

I apologize for the choppy grammar in which I phrased my question. Yahoo doesn't give much room for proper phrasing sometimes...

I was reading and came across the well-known saying whereupon something is compared to a "double-edged sword".

Isn't a dagger two-edged? If so, is a dagger, by definition, always two-edged? Is there any other type of knife/ sword that is always or often two edged?

Wasn't sure how to categorize this question.

Thanks!

I am getting my bachelor's degree at a liberal arts school, because I wasn't sure what area of theatre I wanted to work in. After three years, I have learned that performance and possibly directing are my strong points (I'm a terrible designer and an awful seamstress). BUT, because this is a liberal arts school, I will only be graduating with 2 acting classes, 2 directing classes, a voice and diction class, and a handfull of useless design classes under my belt. I am taking an internship this summer, but I feel incredibly ill-prepared and doubtful about my chances at getting into a good grad school with such minimal specialization on my resume. What can I do?
