For me it's our imperialistic history, our 51st US state policies and the ignorence of some of it's people.

If you aren't or don't see yourself as British, what makes you ashamed of your nationality.

we call today as modern, but when we progress furthermore into the future, will we call that day modern too? since it is more modern than before, therefore by calling it modern, it will sound like we havent progressed at all...shall we coin a new word after modern? what will the word be???? And perhaps we will now look at modern as a different meaning???? Will it remain as only a statement? Or a term?

After a rebellion in the north William of Normandy ordered everyone in York executed.
In 1297 William Wallace led a Scots army to York where he executed everyone he found from the elderly to newborn babies (although they don't put this event in Brave Heart).

That's two for a start, I'm sure there are more!
