Publishing photos is very hard to into. First thing you need to buy is "The Freelance Photographer's Market Handbook" released every year. This will list all current markets to sell your pictures, try waterstones.
Second your photos must of the best quality, never pad out your portfolio with second rate pictures or you will have them thrown back at you. Remember these companies receive 1000's of pictures every week and they know what to look for and will not take second rate shots.
I wish you all the luck in the world with publishing prints and hope you are successful, keep submitting prints however many knock backs and always ask why you were unsuccessful / successful.

I have been in the printing/design industry for over 8 years and can recommend some places to print your postcards but you have to have a business license becuase the printers are for the trade only.
If you do not have this I can help you print what you need at a affordable price. Probably much cheaper than what you would find online.
You have to think about these things before you get started:
1. Quantity (some printers have a minimum, I print as low as 100.))
2. Full Color (front and back or just front with black text on the back.)
3. Turnaround time (how soon do you need these) 2-5 business days is normal.
4. Paper Stock (100lb. cover or 16pt stock) I like the thicker stock. Looks and feels better.
5. Artwork(do you have the corrcect file format for the printer)
These are the basic questions you need to think of before proceeding. Once you know what you want, you can contact me or search for printers online. use keywords such as postcards, full color printing and short run.
I hope this has been helpful for you. Any questions please ask away.

Hi I'm a graphic designer and this is the sort of thing a good printers will be able to help you with, check your yellow pages for printers in your area and give a few a call to get quotes. The information you will need to supply to them is as follows,
1. How many colours you would like them printing in ie. black and white or full colour
2. How big you want them printing (if its just standard postcard size they will know what this is)
3. How many you want printing ie 100 of 1 kind 2 kinds etc
4. What weight of stock you want. paper/card is measured in grams a 350gsm should be fine
Just a small point, I assume your photographs are in digital format in which case they will need to be high enough quality 300dpi cmyk files at at least the size you want them printing.
If they are from film you can supply either the prints or the negatives to the printers who can scan them in at high resolution for you.
It wont be cheap!
You could always invest in a scanner and printer and do them yourself!
Hope this helps

There is this company I use for all my printing - Photobox. They are relatively very cheap and they will also do postcards and other items from your pics.

I researched this a while back.
The best and highest quality place I found was Overnight prints.
I would call them over the phone, that will get you the best deal.
They will also send you free samples of their stuff so you can check it out before.
