Please check out my picture of my pathetic self?
It is not a photo, I drew this, my art of my pathetic self the way I see me and the way others should look at me. I have not lied, I am in truth this state. My head is not that big, but it is what i wore today ( and a few days before that ).
This is what my parents see, have I got anything to be happy about? Can I go on living?
By the way I am male though my picture may not look it

That the mighty Romans ultimately adopted and were completely transformed by the very religion whose followers they had persecuted for centuries.

This is only my preface, but I might add a little more later.

Preface

Shadows haunt me, always one step away, as I pace the hallway. My footsteps echo strangely; the hollow sound reverberates against the stone walls, blending with a steady drip of water and far-away voices. My hands are shaking erratically, as if frozen to the bone, while all over I am sweating. I can’t control my movements anymore, drifting from wall to wall, window to window, past locked doors. Thoughts, like the always-shifting shadows, follow me everywhere I go. I can’t avoid them. In a way, those thoughts are a relief, a temporary distraction from the worry and fear that is gnawing away at me.
This shouldn’t have happened. This is my fault and mine alone. I made one too many mistakes, was too reckless, too thoughtless, and…
I can’t face what might happen now. If our plans fail, it’s all over for him, all over for me. That thought alone, let alone everything else that’s cluttering my mind, is enough to make me cry. I force the tears back, and it works. I escape crying, for once.
In my mind, the past is replaying in snapshots, each moment frozen, and this I can’t escape. I pace some more, stop, and consider sitting down, but I remain standing. I find a window and stare out, but all I see is a wide expanse of green, another of blue above it. In this state of mind, I cannot remember which is earth and which is sky.
A single tree, old and bowing, breaks the green with a bit of brown and autumn’s red. Clouds split the blue, puffy and unrealistically white. The sun is hidden almost completely, but it’s too bright and somehow larger than usual.
It’s only then that I hear footsteps, careful, quiet, resounding through the corridor. I list the possibilities in my mind quickly, trying to reason with myself. It’s him, I think, over and over again, forcing this overly-hopeful thought to come true. I choose a star and wish on it, drop a penny in a fountain, and cross my stiff, frozen fingers.
I’m a fool. It’s next to impossible. If I could, I would tell you the odds. All I know, though, is that they are definitely against us.
The footsteps grow louder, more defined, sharper. I strain my eyes to see, and the hallway seems to stretch before me, long and cold, shadowed and sinister. I have my hopes up, but they quickly fall as I see an unfamiliar figure, too tall and bulky, dart around a corner. My anticipation fades to fear, and I lean against the wall, forcing calmness on my tensed nerves and freezing limbs.
It will be a long wait.

If time has no begining and no end....or even if it does, we are some where in the middle of some vastly huge time span, what are the chances that we exist right this moment? Why not 20 years from now, or 50 years in the past? Or a million years from now?

I have a pretty wide range...I can sing tenor...up until mezzo soprano comfortably...But my pitch changes dramatically as I go higher...While when I'm lower, I sound more mature...while my higher notes still sound like I'm 15...UNLESS I got into what I call "black girl mode"...that I sort of change up my vibrato...and it has somewhat of a churchy sound to it...But for example, say I don't want it sound churchy...I just want it to sound mature....is there anyone way to do thaaat?

I've been hearing this a lot recently. Correct me if I am wrong but aren't the Scots an Irish people who invaided and conquored all the West coast of modern Scotland, and exterminated the original Pictish inhabitants of that region until King Kenneth MacAlpin in 843 AD became King of both the conquering Scots and the remaining Picts.
Historically speaking it seems that the land now known as Scotland was conquored, in a reasonably bloody manner too.

I am intregued to hear people's views about this. I myself live in Yorkshire and am of mixed Romano-British and Nordic descent.

You're throwing a dinner party and can have ANY 10 guests, any mixture, from any time span or culture. (You do NOT need even numbers of males and females, for you etiquette purists.) You don't have to worry about language barriers, and no one's going to be armed or ready to do violence over the fish course. You're just going to have a nice, lively, entertaining meal and talk through the evening.

What famous people would you invite, and why?

Your focus should be on having an interesting and enjoyable time for everyone---it can be controversial (yes, they can discuss sex, religion, and politics---those are 3 dinner-table topics no one ever gets tired of hearing!), but it's NOT supposed to end in a brawl or murder.

A lot of work for 2-12 points, so I'm expecting most people giving answers will be taking part in this mostly for the fun of sharing ideas and thoughts. Mix it up, and come play with me on this

What's it called when instead of "Sally jumps up and down to reach her schoolbag", it's "You jump up and down to reach your schoolbag?"

Does it have a technical term, like 'fourth person' or something? I know "first person" is "I do this and that", but it's not what I'm looking for.

What are the implications of the public's general disinterest in fine art?

To me, it seems like your average joe doesn't much care for works of "high concept." Theory has dominated discourse in a way so that no artist wants to be too specific, too this, or too that. It has imposed normative standards on art. (This has been done in the past, but contemporary discourse definitely condemns it as censorship by the state, etc...) Do you think these judgements (what is and is not good art, kitzche, craft, bad art, cliche, etc...) are justified and well reasoned? Are they a brand of regulation, making the art experts's discourse contradictory.

Also, the public has become disengaged with the concepts guiding the work. I am curious if anyone has thoughts on why that might be.

Moreover, I mostly am interested in:
1. Whether you think this assessment is correct.
2. What does it mean to have such a large part of (contemporary American) society wary of the fine art world?

So far Away from You

I thought about you today,
I closed my eyes and said a prayer.
Life is hard with out you by my side,
So I asked for our Lord to take care.
Being so far away from you,
It's impossible for me to be there.
But in my heart, I am able to,
When I am alone, at night, in silent prayer.
I prayed for you to have strength,
To get through this difficult time,
I told God that I am willing,
For him to give you, some of mine.
I know God will renuite us one day,
With this special prayer, from my heart,
If we have faith, our love will find a way,
And I promise to never again part.

What do people do when reacting in fear? Can you describe any personal or historical examples? If so, do you think their reactions were rational or irrational?

Also possibly related; Is fear innate?

At what point does fear stop or start becoming a decision?

Is the absence of fear a noble pursuit?
