I suggest you go to your local public library and ask for some books on Mexican history. There is a lot of interesting material. I find the information about the Aztecs and the Maya to be very fascinating- especially about the architecture.
Have fun learning about the history and culture.

Go to the library, search the net.
Mexico was a proud country (like the USA) with Indian people. The Spaniards conquered them and forced them to speak their language, Spanish.
Today's Mexican people should not be too proud of speaking Spanish. It was thrust upon them with a tip of a sword.
Spain was one of the great conquering countries of all time. They were very cruel to the Mexican Indians.
Buy an album of Neil Young's with the song, Cortez The Killer. He explains what Cortez did to the Indians in that song. You can include that in your educational process!

So would most Mexicans. I've never met any group of people on the planet who know less about their own history than Mexicans. Maybe we should start with them.

The French are the 2nd largest population in Mexico. (French Mexicain) .They are descendants of the 2nd Mexican Empire (French). Many more have also come to Mexico during the 19th century.
