Absolutely.

The first implies that you believe that you have God's stamp of approval on whatever you do and thus can do as you like.

The second says that you strive to do what God wants His people to do.

There is a great deal of difference. Just to take this out of the realm of religion, and remove that influence from the discussion, let's imagine you have two brothers. One (Al) is a literary type, who spends his time with his nose in a book. The other (Bert) is an active, agressive type, who spends his time out on the football field.
If some of the other kids are mean to Al, his brother, Bert, is going to say, "I'm on Al's side" and plough the other kids in the nose.
If kids are ganging up on Bert on the football field, Al is going to say, "Here -- I have a copy of the rules, and that isn't allowed. You all have to put in penalty time."
The point is, each is supporting the other, but doing in the way that is most effective for them.
If I say, "God is on my side," I am expecting that God will help me overcome whatever problems I am facing. If I say, "I am on God's side," I am saying that I endorse God and that I am prepared to do God's work, and be a positive influence in whatever way I can.
The major difference is the capacity - of course, God is capable of doing much more, and moving in ways that we can not even imagine. But we can use whatever abilities we have to support God's work.
Does that help?

There has to be a difference !
1) God is on my side = My side is fixed... it so happens that God supports me..
2) I am on God's side = My opinion is in doubt. I know God would fix his side like this, so I prefer to be safe and take God's side, though I am personally tempted to choice either way !

Yes, a big difference!

When YOU are on God's side, you are doing what He wants and living the life He would want you to live!

When you say, "God is on my side", look at every war ever fought, and you will hear this refrain!
God be on my side............and so says all of us!!

To me:

God is on my side says that God is with me and helping me.

I am on God's side implies that I believe I know what his/her/it's side is.

I am not necessarily of any faith, but God is at my side, whereas, I don't purport to take any position that I am on God's side...I do my best and figure he'll tell me.

There may be a difference because there is a difference in perspective. The first perspective is self-focussed whereas the second is GOD focussed; it also depends on the person and situation.

I don't think so... There are just different situations where you use one of them and not the other. I can't really explain it too well.

let "God is on my side,"= a

and

let "I am on God's side"= b

also

let "we are on the same side"= c

then
if a=c

and b=c

therefore

a=b

also

a=b=c

that is, there is no diffrence between

"God is on my side,"

& "we are on the same side"
