i have read it. i think that the choices you made are good ones, easy to write about. I also had some ideas but i think it would be best if i wrote them like an outline...here..
Informal Diction:
A quote: "________________________"
explain the quote, and open it up to talk about setting.
setting-
the south, during slavery times, etc.
then you can move into education
education-
black people couldnt be educated, blah blah
From there, you need a transition sentence, which should be easy because you are going from diction to point of view which are two similar ideas. you could say something like "Informal diction is closely linked with point of view considering they are both represented by a young girl and her transformation into a young woman" whatever, something similar to that.
Point of view:
quote: "___________________________"
explain the quote and open it up to talk about status.
status:
african americans were considered lower than white people, they had less rights, explain the way that she is young and throughout the novel becomes more educated. you could mention that she becomes more educated and put a quote showing where her vocabulary starts to change and her spelling is getting better.
transition sentence again...
proberbly something better than antagonist would be like...tone or imagery.
tone:
"____________________"
explain it, and then using that example say how her tone is related to the mood of the story. talk about how it is challenging and times are hard, etc. then explain how its a sad tone and its present throughtout the novel..
hope this helps, if not, i found you a website where there are other literary devices that you might find easier to write about.

good luck!

The book is neither that long nor that difficult. Just read it again, this time with an awareness of your assignment. You'll find things in it on the second run through, that you missed on the first reading.

informal diction, point of view and what about the main medium of storytelling through the novel: letter writing?
It's such an incredibly beautiful story that never fails to bring tears to my eyes.

To answer the main question - yes I read it many years ago. But I really thought the movie was better.... I don't think I can help you with the other part, but try this website:

This should help you figure out what you need to do. Good luck.

lauren is such a kind hearted soul. She did your homework for you. Now what are you going to do in return? Aren't you ashamed of yourself? Shouldn't you do your own homework?
