I'm a left-brained emotional thinker, who likes to think I can be logical.
Yes, I think they can co-exist-- some situations one might have might elicit a more emotional response, other times one can be more detached and logical. Most of us are bits of both types of thinkers, I'd wager.

This sounds like the guy who tells you don't take it personally. Of course you take it personally, it is you that you are talking for and anyone else who lets you talk for them as well. We all take things personally. Can we be objective in our reasoning? Of course. But when it comes time to make a decision we generally pick the answer that benefits us the most. On th Apprentice, a man once gave up his immunity because he thought he had done such a great job that he would never be fired. Trump fired him for doing so. It is stupid to put yourself at risk if you don't have to, so; always think emotionally and package it logically. That is why lawyers never ask questions they don't know the answers to. It hurts their chance of winning a case. And logically, being emotional allows you to stay in the game. Perhaps a better word than emotional is selfish or self-centered.

I would like to say "logical," but modern neuroscience now shows that the authentic state of affairs is not nearly as neat as a distinction between logical and emotional thinkers. The truth of the matter seems to be that one cannot think without emotions coming into play. If our thinking is not intertwined with emotions, then we cannot make prudent decisions. This fact is demonstrated by persons who have suffered brain damage that affects their ability to commingle emotions with thought. Cf. the case of Phineas Gage.

I am a combo thinker- logic and intuition together. Emotions can get you in trouble, you can't think with them.

I try to invoke the mind of Christ, who's thinking is just (logical) but merciful (compassionate 'emotional' if you will).
