It's a little bit difficult to put it into words.
To start off knit two stitches. Then insert the left needle into the first stitch you knitted and pull it completely over the second stitch, over the tip of your right needle and let it drop. Knit another stitch and repeat the process. Take the first stitch, closes to your right hand and pull it completely over. When you get to the end of the chain cut the string attached to the yarn (making sure you have enough slack, and pull it through the last stitch.
Here's a link too if I'm not making sense. Good luck!

It's hard to help without seeing what you are doing, but try this. Knit the first stitch as usual onto the right needle. Knit the second stitch as usual onto the right needle. Take the left needle and CAREFULLY and slowly insert the tip into the FIRST stitch on the right needle (the one you knitted first) Carefully lift it over the second stitch and off the needle. You have bound off one stitch. You should still have one stitch on the right needle. Now knit another stitch and repeat the process. If you proceed slowly, it helps so that your stitches don't all fall off. Hope this helps. Hang in there. I taught myself to knit from books. You can do it!

make two stitches, pull the first stitch over the second stitch and off the needle.
stitch another stitch and pull the second stitch over the third stitch and off the needle.
keep doing this until you only have one stitch remaining, then cut off your wool and pull the remaining wool through the last stitch and pull tight.
done and dusted
