Knox trans. "the god who is without honor among all other gods."
Fagles trans. "that god of death that all gods hate."
Jebb trans. "the god unhonored among gods."

In context, I'm guessing Ares is meant since the Fagles trans earlier refers to "the god of death that raging god of war." But could this refer to Hades or Thanatos, since they are more closely identified as gods of death?

Any Classics scholars out there?

My dance teacher told me my face needs to look more like I'm having fun in dance class, and several workshop teachers/ people who have auditioned me say that I'm a good dancer but I look very serious. I'm a shy person by nature but once I get to know people I tend to be more outgoing. Any tips for helping me feel comfortable enough to be more outgoing in classes, recitals, and auditions?

found a large old Cemetary with about 80% of the graves that were ledgable being that of children 1 year old or younger. The dates of these children ranged from 1880 to 1910. What happened near the town of Pearisburg Virginia for so many children to die in this 30 year perod of time? The oldest grave that had a stone that could be read was that of Captain George Pearis of the United States Calvery who died in 1810. the cemetary has about 150 graves in it and about 115 to 120 of the graves belonged to children between the ages of 1 day old to 1 year old, and they all died in this 30 year period of time. My question is what happened to all these children? Please send possible answers to me at trkrman2004@yahoo.com. Thank you.

My friends and have been talking about this for the last couple of months. I am ready to be 30 this year and a couple of my friends are getting close to it too.
Getting to be 30 suddenly looks to be a turning point in my views and thoughts about things in life now. Is this normal? Does everybody goes through this? Does it get better or worse as the years go by?

I don't know if the fact that starting to look back in time and say "Have I done something worthwhile?" has something to do with it. I tell my friends that all of sudden I get afraid of the future. Though I feel more confident and secure about things, I feel in uncertanty about the mistakes and the benefficial decitions I have made.

Now life is really full of expectations and experiences but can this process of looking at your life and starting to analize myself be part of it?

My friends tell me not to worry about anything but I think they are getting the same thoughts... what do you guys think? Does it vary with people?

I posted this question earlier, but I don't think I was clear enough. I want to do an iron on transfer to a t-shirt, and want to know a good method for matching the backgound color to the shirt color. Here is the link to the image I want...it's an album cover

http://backe83.50g.com/king_crimson_-_discipline_-_front.jpg

I want this to be on a red shirt, and as you can see, the design has plenty of holes where the red would show through. Every time I have tried, the red comes out too light. Anyone have any thoughts?

I recently bought it at a secondhand book store ("The most important work of fiction yet produced by any living writer" for only 60 cents? What a deal!) and I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to start it now. I've heard it's pretty much the most complicated novel ever (I've read very complicated novels before, but most ever? I dunno). But at the same time, I've heard that it's very good. What do you think, read Gravity's Rainbow or one of the various other novels I have on hand. Oh yes, and why?

Sometimes you read something or hear a piece of music which moves your soul. It can be something that reminds you of a special moment, forever lost in time but forever in your heart or something that was just so amazing that you feel that a special person may benefit from it. When i lost the love of my life someone passed on Van Morrisons Astral Weeks, which was the most beautiful thing that i had ever listened to, so years later i passed it on to someone in the same situation. When my friend died someone gave me The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying. It doesn't have to be for morbid situations, just what helped you when you needed it and why? what inspired you at a certain point in your life, so much so that you would recommend it to a complete stranger or what was so amazingly life changing, beautiful, inpirational etc that you would want to pass it on or share it with someone special?

Give some detail about the history/event, perhaps the era, also why and what would you have done? Let us rather skip the disasters from the past as they are sensitive! We would all want to change the 9/11 event!
