I've noticed that the strongest, most uncompromising opponents of anything tend to be those who used to be [whatever] and are no longer. C.L. Richardson, for instance, appears to be advertising himself as an ex-atheist now. What is it about people that makes someone so adamantly opposed to something they used to accept? It's a puzzlement to me.

I have two older sisters, one 31 and one 28. I live with my mother and younger sister, my mom is a single parent who has been single for 7 years and hasn't dated anyone since my stepfather left us and she is on a fixed income.My sisters are better off then us, one married a man whose family owns a company that she works for and one lives with her boyfriend and give him all her money.The problem is every time they get something new they have to call and brag about it,I'm not jealous just upset that they know we are having a hard time and they continue to do this to us.When my mom had her own house(we live in an apartment now)they would come over for dinner and do their lanudry now they never come over and we are not welcomed there unless they have something new to show us.I try to tell them how I feel but it always ends in a fight because they don't want to hear it.My mom feels hurt because she thinks she is no good to them now that she can't always do stuff for them.What should I do?

I live in Northern Indiana and we just had a huge snow storm. This is my first year with a 2001 Z28. I knew it had real wheel drive but I never anticipated how poor camaros are in winter driving. Any tips for improved performance in these icy and snowy conditions for my camaro?

I live with my best friend during term time in lancaster as I am a student at lancaster uni. While my friend was at work the other day he tried it on with me. I said no, and gave him a telling off and left it as that as he had had a few to drink. I know that ppl will think I should have told my friend but the thing is that even when he had cheated on her before she begged HIM to stay with her, he's violent towards her also but she will never leave him, despite my countless amounts of attempts to convince her to. the next night he tried again and was a bit more pushy, grabbing hold of me so i slapped him. Im scared she wil stay with him if i told her and it would also affect our relationship. I would also have nowhere to live while at uni..its her house you see. What do I do? I hate this guy, have done from the word go, but she will never leave him i know she wont, i cant stress enough how much ive tried. Im also not comfortable staying in with him anymore on my own. Any advise?

My car keeps dying although I just replaced alternator, battery, and alternator belt. I start it up...it will run for approx. 2 min. then the car stops. I've been told that it could be faulty wirea, a voltage regulator. It's almost as if my alternator isn't getting it's current to my battery. What else could it possibly be? Any ideas??

I really needs some advice.. I cant stop worrying about this.. I started to become friends with a coworker in 1999. We shared alot in common.. Our kids played together etc.. She was going thru a divorce and I was there for her.. we remained friends for several more years but I felt the only thing we had in common was that our kids were friends. our lives were on two different paths. My husband is from the detroit area and wants to go back to settle and have and raise our kids there. He absolutely loves Detroit and tells me it will be great and safe, but all I ever hear about it and the surrounding areas is bad. (Muder, Theft, Rape, ect.) Is it truely possible to be safe and happy there and in the future raise a family there?
