I think it has more to do with having been duped into believing something false.
They feel more betrayal than those of us whom have grown up studying it and knowing the falseness, rather than having grown up within the falseness, and maybe they still have family living in the false worship of a man rather than God.
Peter himself, in the bible, forbid people to worship him, dress him up differently than them and alsodid not allow them to kiss his fingers or feet or rings. He told them he was a man, just as they were and he was not the one they were to be looking at, it was his teachings, they were to worhip and look up to God and follow his son, Jesus Christ.
I know this is how my husband feels. He grew up in the falseness, I didnt. His family is still involved in it except for one of his brothers, my family is just full of believing non believers.
We always feeel stronger about something that has taken advantage of our trust, its human nature.

Actually, the most virulent anti-Catholics on this Forum are the fundamentalists and then the ex-Catholics. I'm not sure if the fundamentalists actually believe the misguided stories that they've been told about Catholics, or if the rigidity of their belief system forces them to deny the validity of any other religious views besides their own.
The ex-Catholics are a little easier to explain. If they said anything positive about Catholicism, it might lead them to re-examine their former faith and find that it was, indeed, the right one. As it stands, they have to tear down their old beliefs in order to make the new ones look good.
Fundamentalists or ex-Catholics, one thing is certain -- all that Catholic-bashing sure ain't pretty. And I'm just about 100% certain it's not how Christ wants us to treat each other.

I doubt C.L. Richardson has ever been an atheist, considering atheism is a "lack of belief in all deities," not flaunting immorality or denying her single god, which she claims. Some people like to use the atheist label for any Christian who experiences doubts about their religion. "Atheism" to them is anti-spirituality and only applies to their god.
If C.L. Richardson shows up on this thread, I would like her to define what she feels atheism was when she used to be one, what she thought about all gods (not just the Christian one), and if she felt angry at a god, or just if she felt there was a lack of evidence for one.
Those answers will tell me whether or not she was actually an atheist, or just a theist (or even agnostic) angry at a particular belief.

Actually I'm a "her", and the reason is pretty simple.. We've been there. Having been both an atheist and a Christian in my lifetime, I know the difference firtsthand. Funny thing is, I don't know anyone who had had a relationship with Jesus and then cut it off and became ex-Christian. The only "ex-Christians" I know of are ones who never knew Jesus at all. Hmmmmmm. Lets give that a think. ;)
Edit: And to the commenter who said I must have been saved by age 13 - no. Unfortunately I didn't meet Jesus until my early 20's. But I wish I had known then what I know now.
Edit2: It's cool. :)

Richardson is a SHE. I know, I know, I though most women were a lot smarter than that.
If she was ever an atheist I am going to guess she was "saved' before her 13th birthday.
It is OK sweetie, I thought she was a he for a long time too.
Ok early 20's huh. Still young enough to be susceptible to brainwashing. Even older adults can be lured in, like inmates and those suffering from depression.

The most virulent anti-Catholics are More likely Fundamentalist Christians who know little or nothing of the Catholic Beliefs, only what hate is spewed about them in their homes and churches

All I have to say is that in my experience, most of the Satanists I have interacted with, are ex hardcore Catholics. Kid you not. They know Catholicism inside out and were totally into it at one point. Guess some just had to swing to the opposite direction lol.

I personally think at least half of the ones that say they used to be Catholics are lying to try to make their diatribe sound more real. They are a cracked lot though for sure

Blinded by another thought bomb...
We spend so much time trying to understand everything about God, do you plan to take His place?
Consider the remarkable life He has provided you, then believe in Him!
