I am a college student who wants to be a journalist/photographer for a newspaper after school. I am trying to decide on the best major. I kind of want to leave my options open for being a history professor so I am thinking major in history and minor in communications. Or would major in communications concentration in print news and a history minor be better? Any other suggestions. Thank you.

In group IV, the upper elements, carbon can form a giant covalent structure with pure carbon. Under carbon, silicon can form a giant covalent structure with oxygen. Under it, metals come out and they can only form metallic bond.
It is non-metal----> metalloid----> metal when down a group.
I think that metals are metals not because they are metals. But they got the properties of metals. That means they got the properties of metals first, so people classify them into metal. And I think non-metal and metalloid are the same.
What I want to ask is elements in same group, got the same number of outermost shell electrons, but why their properties change down a group? From non-metal to metal. Why elements in the upper of group IV covalent bond together but elements under them become metallic bond? What cause this?
Last, only group IV can form giant covalent structure, so there would be giant covalent structure form by carbon and silicon only, right?

When Christianity is all about social justice, selling your possessions and being compassionate to those who have nothing? Just wondering, and I found some tidbits to start you off:
He who oppresses the poor to increase his wealth and he who gives gifts to the rich -- both come to poverty." Proverbs 22:16

"Jesus answered, If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.'" Matthew 19:21

Not to be rude or anything, but the future doesn't seem to be all that great for Israel? How do you think Israel will be destroyed or do you think the Palestinians will eventually just outnumber the Jews and take their land back democratically?

Wal-Mart only sells jewelry/watches from some manufacturer by the name of Elgin. Why is it that I can't find any Seiko watches or Rolex or Citizen or Fossil watches? My parents' response was "Those brands do not want to be affiliated with a 'Discount House.' " Why did they call it a "Discount House"? They also said that those brands are exclusive to specialty jewelry stores. Are my parents right? Do you think those brands belong ONLY at dedicated jewelry stores? Are those brands "too good" for Wally World?

I caught my boyfriend looking at porn on the internet. Is that weird? It makes me feel uncomfortable and I wonder why he does it. He says it's not a fantasy but it "recharges his batteries." Has anyone else been in this situation? We got in a fight last week but things are better now. Still, should I be worried? We've been dating for more than a year & a half, plus we live together. I guess I would feel better if he looked at it with me and not by himself.---Thanks in advance for your input.

Of corse Santa Clause is real and we all know that. But sometimes it is fun to be silly and make fun of him in movies.

Moves I know and love..
Silent Night Deadly Night 1,2,3 and so on
Silent Night Bloody Night
Tales From the Crypt season 1 ep whatever....
Christmas Evi (me and John Waters favorite)
Black Christmas and remake

What am I missing?

(Support grindhouse films not Hollywood GrindHouse films)

Just to play Devil's Advocate here.

'Meeting' at first through email, then IM, and moving on to telephone conversations, at what point, if any, would you rely on your instincts about a someone you meet online?

Do you think older people tend to do less 'game playing' than younger people?

While bearing in mind that anyone can hide behind a computer, meeting someone in a pub or other public place for the first time is not much different, is it?

You still have to rely on what they tell you about themselves as being the truth, even with the benefit of 'reading' facial expression and body language.

If you did follow your instincts, did you find you were way off the mark when you actually met?

Or was there a point where your instincts told you something was wrong, and you later found out you were right?

And, finally, did you trust your instincts and find you were right to do so?

Please read this before watching the video!
(I did not make the video)

This is a car advertisement from Germany. When they finished filming the ad, the film editor noticed something moving along the side of the car, like a ghostly white mist. They found out that a person had been killed a year earlier in that exact same spot.

The ad was never put on TV because of the unexplained ghostly phenomenon. Watch the front end of the car as it clears the trees in the middle of the screen and you'll see the white mist crossing in front of the car then following it along the road....Spooky!

If you listen to the ad, you'll even hear the cameraman whispering in the background about it near the end of the commercial. You tell me is this a ghost or just mist.....
