I rescued my American Bulldog from an abusive owner 4 months ago, he's doubled in size in that time and all he wants to do is play. He's 20 months old and I'd like to put him in a conformation class since he's gorgeous, (I get compliments on him all the time), he's exactly as describe in the breed standards I've read. His previous owner got him from a breeder who used DRA, the Dog Registry of America, (unrecognized by any well known regisrty) so do I just resign myself to putting him in a working dog competition? I.E. Pulling I have had many people ask if I intend to breed him, It's a thought, but I'd like to get him some points beforehand. He's just an awesome animal who has been through a lot of hard times and has come back to being the sweet loving guy he always was.

I'm a teacher. The other day in a meeting the presenter said something to the effect of, "We're not here for the money, we're all here because we care about these kids, you're all caring people." Do people think teaching is a profession you have to be called to, like the ministry or something? I'm having a hard time expressing what I mean but the gist is here. Are there any teachers out there who get what I mean?

Look, I like my friend and all and we hang out everyday at school. When we get off the bus he begs me to beg my mom for him to come over. When I say I have homework he says he'll do it with my but I end up doing the work or he makes me play games. recently he was sick, (nothing serious), and i took care of him as i would my child. when i started not feeling well a couple of days ago his reaction was definitely not the same towards me. not only has he not even asked how i'm feeling or if i need or want anything, but he ignores me when i'm coughing and sneezing by making believe he doesn't hear me. he hasn't even offered to take the dog out so that i don't have to go out into the cold. this isn't the first time that he's behaved this way and i fear that it won't be the last. what do i do without being spiteful or starting an argument?

I'm not on birthcontrol now, but I use to and I still get confused when it says the sunday after your period to take it. I asked my doctor about it and she said to just take it on any sunday. When I get my next pack again should I wait until my next period is over and take it the sunday after? Another question if i stop my period on a sunday can i still take the pill that day? This is all just too confusing. Anyone that knows alot about birthcontrol please help.

There is a friend of mine, who has recently been distant from our group of friends. she has been in and out of depression, is a horrible cutter, and anorexic.
she's under the impression that she's not good enough and that no one cares about her.
Us, as her former friends, want to all pitch in and buy her a christmas present, reminding her that she is loved and that people do care about her, and most importantly that she is a daughter of the King, and is loved deeply by Him.
we know she needs help, and so do her parents, and they're working on it, we just would like to get her a little something to get her through the holidays, but we're not sure what would be appropriate.

any ideas?
