Well I would first suggest going to a (board-certified) urologist if you haven't already :) He or she can rule out other more serious problems. I have what they call 'irritable bladder' though I'm wondering if perhaps 'overactive bladder' includes some incontinence(?) I have the urgency, frequency and pressure on the bladder, however, the ditropan(sp?) gave me dizziness so I only tried it for a day. There is a non-profit organization called the Interstitial Cystitis Association (ICA) albeit neither of us apparently have that diagnosis but perhaps similar symptoms as those with IC. For those with IC, it's said that avoiding foods with citric acid such as oranges and tomatoes that are acidic as well can help with the symptoms. Others say that vitamins (perhaps tablets) can provide more irritation to the bladder.

There currently aren't any over the counter medications that treat overactive bladder. If the problem doesn't resolve itself in a day or so after you lay off the caffeine, you should see a doctor.

First if you eat a lot of sugar and starchy foods try cutting them out and see a doctor. I had to go to the restroom every 30 minutes. A doctor told me that i may be diabetic. He tested me and luckily i wasn't but i decided to watch how i was eating. I took care of myself as if i were diabetic and now I don't have any problems. I can easily go for 2-4 hours without feeling like i have to run into the restroom. And I lost 25 pounds! Great deal!

You need to see a urologist. Overactive bladder could mean other serious things.
