Babba...who is from you generation? I listen to all kinds of music...generally from the 60s onward, plus classical. I am currently in love with a Respighi make of "The Birds" performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra with the great Eugene Ormandy conducting of course.

Professor...don't confuse hair bands from the 80s, such as Quiet Riot, with heavy metal bands from the 70s, such as Led Zepplin. lol.
We are feeling a bit old?

Remember the English Beat?
Went and saw them the other night... with my 16 year old son!
That's not too far from the age I was when I started listening to them.
Sheesh.

maximum of my CDs the two contain a e book or each and every so often even a poster with all thei liner artwork/notes/lyrics/very own thank you and stuff on there. i individually savour those for all time. i do no longer likely care approximately it with downloads by using fact all the downloads that i'm getting are for loose and that i each and every so often finally end up paying for a actual replica of the album. there is particularly some albums on iTunes that contain a digital e book MQ: no longer likely MQ2: I nonetheless like amassing 7" records MQ3: The time-vacationing code from Futurama MQ4: i've got continuously had to, yet there is no community checklist shops. I continuously spend as lots time as i will in appropriate Buys with a sturdy determination of CDs and Vinyls and that i like observing the burden of seven" records at my community warm subject count. i grew to become into approximately to purchase some, yet i grew to become into in a hurry the final time I went there.

NIce!! :) ( I love Zappa as well! ) I was born in '78 so I can remember being little and listening to bands like The Smithes, The English Beat..etc... ! I was actually humming one of their songs in the store the other day and the teen clerk had never hear of it! Shocker!!! I knew then and there that I was getting to the stage where some of my fav music was hitting the oldies station!

I love 80s new wave too. My favorites from that era are Depeche Mode, the Cure, Erasure, and Tears for Fears.
I sometimes feel old too and I'm 37.

I'm with Baba Yaga. I have no idea who Missing Persons are.
Is this like the other night when someone who graduated in 1988 said they saw the start of heavy metal while they were teens- Actually heavy metal started with Led Zepellin who formed in 1968.

I've never heard of them either, but I'm not into New Wave.
I remember hearing Guns n Roses on the classic rock (ie, OLD rock!) radio station one day and thinking to myself, "since when is that old?!"
I think that was a couple years ago... sigh...

That's because you are still a child Rio.
Hearing 80s music and realising how far back it goes makes me feel old too.

I'll tell you what really shows your age. You are unfamilar with today's artists. My teenage daughters know a lot more about this music than I do. I can name artists whose music I am totally unfamiliar with and my girls instantly know who they are and can name at least several of their songs even if they aren't particularly fans of the artists themselves.
