I'm an EE major and something has always bugged me in the (self-chosen) little-as-possible interaction with circuits that I've had:

How can a voltage source be high voltage, low current? More specifically, how can the output current be variable given a specific voltage? Is it not as simple as applying V = IR? Given the R of the load you can find I? If, for example, a power supply limits the current out, how does this not directly limit the voltage out, assuming the same load?

Supposedly power lines use high voltage, but low current to transfer power, and they say touching high voltage lines isn't dangerous, as long as the current is low...how is the current not determined by the resistance of your body??

Please help restore the foundations of my supposedly good education.

I like this guy in my english class. We used to sit beside eachother, but now we sit far away (assigned seating)
He still sits close to me though. We used to talk quite a bit. He's in a band, and he asked me to do the artwork for his band's album. And he also said to me "Hey, you should come check us out sometime!" And then I started liking him lol. Anyways, ever since I started liking him, it's gotten harder to talk to him. I get shy, and I don't know what to say. I might even be coming off as a cold person!! =(
He still talks to me sometimes, like he saw my drawings and was like "Sweet." And he also asks me to be in his group when we do group work.

So how should I flirt with him?? I don't know how because I am so shy now, and I don't want him to think that I'm mean (because I don't really talk to him as much anymore...)

I need to lose weight- dont want need, Im skinny, but im so unhappy, i need to get rid of some 7 pounds. I have a problem, i cant eat anymore, i just want to stop and lose weight! My Boston terrier is 12 years old and has very labored breathing with little exertion and can't tolerate being overheated at all. He even has trouble swallowing. The vet said he has a possible collapsed vocal cord. Any help for that?

Okay, I have some 4"PVC to 2"PVC reducer, a 4" PVC tank/endcap, and a ball valve. It is going to be under a lot of pressure (70-100PSI), this is my first time bonding PVC so what should i do in steps? I heard PVC Primer then Cement it together. Anything else?

Hey. I have a cellphone that gets service from Verizon. For those of you who text, you know that in your outbox, once u send a message, there are a few different symbols that can appear near the top right side of the beginning of the text, i.e. a check or a little arrow thing. Well, how do you know if the person you've sent the text to has received it yet? More importanly, i'd like to know how you know if they've opened it and read it yet. Thanks.
