I have a 2001 Honda Civic thats been running fine since we bought it 2 years ago. We put an alarm on it then and its never given us any trouble. Last week we noticed a plastic burning smell from the engine & a few nights later after it had been driven, the car wouldn't start back up. The next morning we went back to it & it started. We went to a shop and they thought it was battery acid corrosion on the coils around the battery, they scraped it off & the car worked fine. That night after we had driven it for a while, we went to get back in & it wouldn't start again. This time we had to get it towed. This shop said it was the alarm. They disconnected it and charged us $200. We drove back home, made a stop, got back in the car & it wouldn't start again! The car was towed back to the shop now they say its a different problem and that the $200 we just payed has nothing to do with this problem. Obviously they never fixed it right in the 1st place and want more $. What are our legal rights?

My fiance' and I are both Catholic. I became Catholic last Easter and began working on an annulment as soon as I was confirmed. I had a very awful marriage when I was 19 to an athiest and have been divorced for 10 years. We both wanted very much to be married in the church, but because my ex has gotten to the venue changed to a diocees that is understaffed we have decided (with the input of our priest) that we are going to go ahead and have a civil ceremony. We have also decided because of our ages, 33 and 36 that we want to begin our family right away. The trouble is I want to have a wedding and once the annulment comes through I want to have a small Catholic Mass, he on the other hand wants the oposite a small civil ceremony and a large Catholic Mass after the annulment. I didn't have a wedding when I was younger and I want to have a celebration of our love that everyone can attend, all of our family and friends, nothing over the top but a wedding none the less.

A 1.5 kg mass is whirled in a horizontal circle at the end of a .8 meter long cord. If the cord stands out at an angle of 40 degrees from the vertical, calculate

(1) the radius of the circle produced by the path of the mass
(2) the angular speed of the mass in radians/second
(3) the centripetal force acting on the mass.

Little Johnny was becoming naughty days before Christmas and his father was getting tired of tackling him. Someone suggested him to leave a pile of dog poop in place of the gift if Johnny behaved naughtily. Two days before Christmas, Johnny's father asked him what he wanted for Christmas. Johnny replied, "I want a teddy-bear lying by my side, a toy train near the Christmas tree and a bike leaning up against the garage." On Christmas morning, Little Johnny was astonished to find a pile of dog poop by his side, by the tree and by the garage. When his father asked, "Johnny replied," I think I got a dog but I can't find the son-of-a-b!tch!"

I recently ran a credit report and found a debt of $130 to Synovus Bank that I don't believe is mine. I want to get this debt off of my credit report and I don't feel that I should owe the money. I know that the first step is to contact the collection agency that currently has the account and demand that they provide proof of the debt, but what to do after that?

I remember seeing a site sometime back that gave a list of steps you can take with collections agencies, and if they fail to meet any of the requirements laid out in these steps they are legally required to remove the debt from your credit report.

I am trying to come up with a strategy to prove this. States that have split speed limits use stopping distance models to justify their actions, but I can clearly prove that justification to be without rational basis. Any argument the State can give to support split speed limits, I can clearly refute, and offer empirical evidence and testimony from qualified experts to the contrary that SSL's are NOT safe. In an upcoming speeding ticket hearing, what strategy can I employ to not only beat the ticket, but have the split speed limit in that state repealed judiciously?

The headline on a recent Gallup report was “Americans’ Economic Pessimism Reaches Record High.” The report shows a nation deeply unhappy with the state of the economy.

Right now, according to the report, 27% of Americans rate current economic conditions as either excellent or good, while 44% say they are only fair and 28% say they are poor. Moreover, “an extraordinary 78% of Americans now say the economy is getting worse, while a scant 13% say it is getting better.”

Bearing in mind that the economy isn’t in recession (yet?), and consumers haven’t felt the full effects of $98 oil (wait until they see this winter’s heating bills) or the plunging dollar, which will raise the prices of imported goods.

I had this friend, and she said her mom, never allowed her to dunk things, such ac cookies in milk, crackers in soup, and so on. Why is this? Does it have anything to do with religion? I'm sorry, but something about that, bugs me.

I know a few people whos patriarchal blessings say that they will LIVE to see the 2nd coming of Christ. How would most LDS interpret this...it is what it is, or could it mean something else? One lady I know is in her 90's and I guy I know is almost in his mid thirties. Both their patriarchal blessings say the same thing. This thought raises a lot of questions in relation to what scripture reveals about events that will occur before the 2nd coming of Christ and things that must be in order before hand. Will this woman live to be 130 years old? or will Christ come before all revelation takes place? I highly doubt? What sayest thou? OR maybe I am in all just reading too much into it aye? Your comments are great appreciated. Thanks.

Anybody got a GOOD recipe for a fruitcake (one that actually tastes good) which doesn't require booze? I like a moist fruitcake, but I'm told the best way to ensure moistness is including booze in the recipe. I do not cook with alcohol at all because of religious reasons (yes, I know the alcohol cooks out) and even the so-called "cooking wines" and non-alcoholic beers and ales still have alcohol in them. Surely there must be a good fruitcake recipe that doesn't require alcohol.

This past week I drank 2 margaritas and a beer and well I started cramping in my lower abdomen. There is a good chance I may be pregnant but my period isnt due until after this weekend. If I am indeed pregnant could I have harmed my potential child. Or will it be okay. What could have caused the cramping? I keep getting twinges of cramps here and there.
