I'm curious to know if anyone here has experience, or is experiencing growing up in a 'cult'?- ( Or what I like to call
'new beliefs.' )
Some people claim I was raised in a cult. I beg to differ.
But hey, everyone has their opinion. I respect that.
I was a member of The Family International, aka
'The Children of God'. Ever heard of it?
I honestly loved my childhood. - I wouldn't change hardly a thing. The group is Christian.
I'm no longer a Christian, nor a member of it. But still I respect what the organization is achieving in life.
My question for you is
( assuming of course you were in a cult/new religion )

1# What was it like for you?

2# When you saw what the news wrote about it, what did you think?

3# Which 'cult' or whatever you wanna call it, were you in?

Why do i keep getting this feeling that I want to die or that someone else is going to die. Also, why do I feel like I want to be away from my parents all the time, and why do I feel like I need to hug someone, and why does my mom's boyfriend swear at me all the time???????

This guy was saying he believed women should sleep on a cot so they would be more less likely to sleep in and would get up earlier to make their husband's breakfast and I thought that was kind of mean. I mean women should make breakfast but they should get a nice bed, you know?

One of the financial newsletters was bragging about the money they made in options. They told their readers to buy $180 put options for a stock trading at $218 for $12 premium. After a month, they told the readers to sell the options. At that time, option premium was $15 and the stock price was $182. They are saying that they made 25% profit ((15-12)/12). However, to me, the option is worthless since it is out of money. The option does not have a value until stock price hits at least $182. Even then, you will be still at loss since you had yo pay for the premium. The price has to go down to $170 for you to break even on this investment. Am I missing something?

During WW2, if the U.S. army, at it's peak, had gone up against the German Wermacht at it's zenith, which army would've most likely won out? I'm speaking in terms of equipment, training, manpower, strategy, leadership, resources, etc. Which side do you think would've had the edge and why? Yes, this is purely hypothetical speculation.

Well....I sorta have the biggest crush on a junior at my school. i am a freshmen. He is really hott and he gets really good grades and so many people tell me he's such a sweet and nice guy! He doesn't get into drugs and he seems like a good guy. Whenever I am around him i can't stop blushing and whenever i see him he makes me happy. i can't stop thinking or talking about him. but i barely know him and i have not said one word to him but i really want to get to know him. but i found out today that he is going out with some girl from a diff. town i don't kno why it is bothering me so much that he has a GF when i barely know him....what is up with that?? Do I still like him??? Plz give me some advice.....i really need it!!!! and at lunch i sit across the aisle from him and he always glances at me and makes eye contact with me like 5 times....why does he do that if he has a gf...what does that mean???

She is a really good person but just has had some bad times. She has been divorced and dated a horrible guy and she says she believes. I on the other hand believe and want to go to Church. We go out and have discussed the subject a little and I told her that I wanted to go to Church so that I could be around other good people and stay away from the crooked ones. I've had some people say that its not a good idea to date someone like her and Ive had others tell me the opposite that I should date her and maybe things would change with her. This is honestly what I wonder. So please, PLEASE don't say anything rude about my question, okay? I am 18 years old and have NEVER had a boyfriend, mainly because I am very shy. I don't feel like I'm interesting enough to have one, either. ...and one of my assignments is to define the difference between Islam and Islamism. This is how my definition reads in my current draft:
