A8. But I don't think you want a 97. There ware some major model changes in 98. A 98 or 99 might be a better bet.

The B5 S4 production run was '00-02 not '97 (Europe or US). In 1997 the B5 with the 1.8T engine was first released to the US market however the 2.8L was released in the B5 in early 1996 as a FWD or AWD (Quattro) package.

Early D2 platform A8's were the flagship limousine here and in Europe. The S8 released years later was offered with the first 4.2 of the Audi line.

The B5 second generation S4 debuted in Europe in 1997...which would have been Audi's top of the line sports car for that year. The A8 4.2 was the flagship sedan for the company as well.
