Just saw something on the discovery channel about how brazil has converted to biofuels. If we are in such a crisis for gasoline and global warming, why don't we switch? I know the costs would be great but it's not like we can just buy another earth or make oil appear out of no where. Considering this, we must not be in that big of a crisis after all.

Hey everyone!!
I have a close friend (22 y.o.) who is living in Florida. He has been there since about 13 years now. His mom is germany, dad is american. He was born in germany. He has never had a german Birth certificate or german passport. Now he has decided to come to germany for good and of course , work there as well. German government requires him to have some kind of proof that he is also german because of his mom.
How can he apply for a german passport in Florida?? Is there a german embassy or something like that? What does he have to do to be able to work and live in germany?

Thanks for your answers in advance

In a recent post, someone stated: "Being born again means that you've accepted God as your personal Savior." Wow, what a statement. (I think she meant Jesus).

Where o' where does it say to "accept Jesus as your personal Savior." in the Bible? It does not. Do people realize that this concept totally nullifies the covenant that the Father established? Being a Christian can be summarized in two words: Divine Sonship. God fathers a family. We are a FAMILY. There is nothing personal about that.

People who speak in terms of being "saved" miss the whole boat. Being a Christian means being part of the family of God. It does NOT mean getting a "Get Out Of Hell Free" card.

And how do we enter this family? Through baptism. THAT is why we baptise infants. THAT is what being born again means. THAT is when the notion of Mary, the saints, calling priests father, and everything else falls into place - when you understand the meaning of COVENANT and FAMILY. Is there ANYBODY that grasps this?

I am genuinely curious, so please be honest.

Does anybody know that modern liberals in the United States are absolutely not liberals?

A liberal is a rational person who believes in natural rights and a free economy.

A liberal is one who would advocate less government control of people's income, business ventures, reproduction and even smoking one thing or another.

Liberty is a natural state. Government does not provide liberty. Government is a necessary evil that should be prevented from taking liberty willy-nilly.

Many Republicans prefer to forfeit liberty to make the country look and act in ways they are comfortable with and Democrats, generally mislabeled as 'liberals', are downright abusive of the natural rights of citizens, except when it comes to abortion or pot.

Had anybody heard of classical liberals before and does anybody else cringe when they hear anti-liberty zealots referred to as 'liberals'?
