Myself, I would choose Jimmy Stewart. He was such a gifted actor, had a passion for life, and was such a compassionate person.

The purpose of the Senate is to put a brake on the Lower House [House of Representatives] & allow improvements to legislation by amendments. It's also to ensure representation of all sectors of society, not just the broad majority. (Remember, democracy doesn't mean a dictatorship of the majority, but equal representation for all. This is why senators are elected by proportional representation, not first-past-the-post voting.)

Let's set an agenda for our Senators, who are elected to represent ALL of us.

It seems to me that the most vulnerable in our society have been neglected, and in some cases actively oppressed - refugees, the mentally ill, age pensioners, carers, the chronically ill and the disabled. I would like to see a Senate that protects these people.

I'd also like to see a Senate that strives to stop the wholesale destruction of our native flora and fauna, when thousands of species of plants and animals are threatened with extinction.

First off, let me apologize for rushing right to the Senior Citizen board with this question, I just hoped to have more "been there and this is what I did/am doing" type answers.

My grandmother has had heart problems her whole life and has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, heart disease, etc. She has just recovered from a stroke ( Go Her!) and is doing really well, except for the fact that her doctors seem to have her on a zillion blood thinners. She's handling that quite well, but we're from Buffalo, NY and it's starting to get COLD.

She seems to be always freezing and I'm looking for a gift to send her (I'm in CA) that would help keep her toasty, but I don't know what would be the best thing. I've thought of slippers and sweaters and heated throws for when she's watching TV and things like that, but I was hoping to hear from someone who had been through a similar situation and could tell me "hey this is really great".

Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks in advance!

He and I seperated in the spring and the next summer he got a woman pregnant. He ran away when she told him, but she got him in court with paternity test. He refused to have anything to do with the child, because he can't stand her now. He and I have 2 children together and he wants me to keep it a secret. The woman seeked my friendship, and I weirded out but part of me felt sad for her little boy. It probably bothered her to know my ex picked up our children for visitation. A haunting thought came in my mind: Don't we owe it to tell the children that they have a half-sibling? I feel it is not my place to tell the kids about this, but I also feel like they have a right to know. I lost even more respect for this man knowing he denies a child. He really played a number on me -- thinking he was a good man. But it is my resposibility to keep my children out of the middle. This is heavy news for a kid. My ex has attitude of what they don't know doesn't hurt them.

Ok, long story short, I'm in college and I can't seem to get past math 030, which is equivalent to the SECOND year of high school algebra (taken usually about your Junior year). I've always had issues with math since I was a kid.

I was wondering, how hard is a Statistics math class? Would this be a good alternative?

Hi, I want to use the essay question "How does Volpone act as a critique of 17th century materialism?" But, I don't know what 17th century materialism is! I don't mean in terms of philosophy and Hobbes, because I don't think that really applies to Volpone. Does anyone know? I haven't been able to find a definition that doesn't have to do with consumeristic culture or philosophy, and am very confused as to what my professor is talking about. Is 17th century materialism just what materialism is today? (Meaning that it's about greed?) Please help me!! AggHHHHHHHHH PAPERSSS. Thank you.

I divorced my ex amicably 2 yrs ago. We lived 1 mile from each other, and I didn't fight for primary custody, we went for joint. All good, right? Well, I moved back in with my parents 18 months ago, and my ex and his new wife and kids moved to the opposite coast. My father and my brother have criticized me repeatedly about not fighting for custody of my son.

This is painful for me. My mother was never any help in caregiving for my son, but my ex had a big family ready and willing to help. Not only was my mother not a help, but she put me through emotional abuse from 12 to about 15. Right around 15 I was old enough to tell her to screw off, lol......but when my son visited me over spring break, my mother called him an asshole, because he was playing with and therefore working up her dogs. He was not mean to the dogs, he was playing.

My father knows my mother is this way, but still holds it against ME that I don't want my son raised with her. And my bro doesn't get it.

im looking for the website that matches your opinions on issues to the presidential canidates of 2008. After you answer all of the questions and click ok or whatever, the site has the percentages of all of the canidates and shows you whom you wish to vote for based on the results of the test.

I'm going to say Aramis Ramirez. And as strange as it sounds, I think Jorge Posada is somewhat underrated. Even though he plays in NY, I think he gets overlooked.

i had someone at work come up to me and tell me i needed to take posters of a couple music artists (Kanye, BSB) that i happen to like. No naked folks in it or anything sexual about them at all. I'm like there's no naked women or anything derogatory in it...their response "this is a workplace environment" (with a smile on their face) oh okay my bad. If it was about lame work related crap it would be ok, right?

But everyone talks about all the "women they would like to be with" or what they would do and all this other crap. But its cool, whatever its lame freakin bullcrap. There are no regs that says someone can't have posters of that nature at work.

I'm ready to slap the heck out of the next person that says something ignorant to me...

never married or had children? If he was to be one of us and then get nailed for our sins why not the norm of marriage and family? He could have set a great example for fatherhood and sacrifice so why didn't he marry? Sex in marriage isn't a sin. But then if He was real maybe he was "boofing" Mary the prostitute and also getting it on with all those dudes he chose as His followers.............................. or maybe He really did not die on the cross and married Mary and moved to France and had a family.

Does the sex of the person influence your interpretation?

For example, do you associate "submissive woman" with a woman who interprets the Bible as requiring her to always obey her husband?
Or interpret "submissive man" as having an... interest in, e.g. hand-cuffs and black latex?

If so, why?

Since you film users talk so much about film being better because of the tonality, colour reproduction, contrast, saturation, etc etc being better than what digital can do, can you give me examples? Anything that supports your claim. Show me any evidence that proves digital can't reproduce a film image.
