and i was wondering if you have any ideas. i am doing a research paper, and this is one of the topics i was given. the description says, "...investigating the ethical implications of killing and eating animals for food."

some things to think about:
is it possible to kill and eat animals in ethical fashion?
consider: manner in which animals are killed and how they have evolved over time
philosophy of ethics
economic concerns (cheap meat for those who cant afford other food)
evolution
depictions of carnivorism

im not asking for you to do my research paper, but it would help me a lot if you can point me in the right direction by giving me some articles or books that you know of that deals with this. thanks.

I've been with my current partner almost two years (I'm 24). I came out to my parents almost three years ago (about a year before I met my current partner). When I first came out, they made it clear that they weren't happy about the situation and that they were basically going to treat me the same, but they didn't have any interest in meeting anyone I'm dating.

Since that time, they have slowly gotten better but still do not want to meet anyone that I'm dating. I'm guessing it's easier for them to have a gay son if they don't have to actually *see* it.

Now that my partner and I have been together for two years, I want them to at least invite him to certain things. In this situation, if my parents say no, they don't want to meet my partner, what should I do? Obviously I'm not going to ditch the boyfriend, but at the same time I can't allow my parents to continue to pretend like I'm not gay. What would you do in this situation?

ok so... my life is DRAMA so i WAS with a man who is in the military and anyways he has 2 kids so id be a stepmother and anyways his freakin WIFE who i thought was his ex is still married to him and he got caught because he used THERE emergency credit card to call me collect so she called me and informed me about everything and so i called him and asked and he said that when we met he decided to go through with the divorce and that is true he moved out and let his wife stay in there house and basically he has lied to me about EVERYTHING pertaining to him and her but with me i belive he loves me and he wanted his cake and to eat it to. they havent been together for awhile since weve been togethere but i guess my question is is how much would you put up with until it wasnt worth it?? i feel betrayed and hurt and dont know what to do and have no one to talk to he was the one i told everything and he feels like **** which of course because he got caught and will lose me if he doesnt change

It seems whenever I get sick it lasts for a month! No one else appears to have colds that long! It feels like I'm sick all the time since they last so long. Cough, sore throat, runny nose. I do work at a elementary school, but it's my second year, shouldn't I start to be immune?
I take vitamins and I'm pretty healthy, don't smoke.

Is anyone as fed up with politicians (I name John McCain first and foremost) labeling anti-war supporters "anti-American" and/or "un-patriotic" as I am?

So I'm anti-American if I go with my gut feeling that this war is wrong? That we're not really fighting for freedom or trying to spread democracy? That I don't believe all of the baloney that comes out of DC?

Am anti-American if I go and read/study about the country that I live in and find that it too has sponsored terrorism...?

I live in the chicago suburbs. I have a friend travelling from Dublin Ireland, to Phoenix AZ, who has a layover of about 2 hours at O'Hare this week. I would *love* to be able to visit with her during that time, but am not sure how it all works, these days, with security & International flights.

Will she & her family be confined to an area where they can't mingle with the Chicago populace? Will I be able to go in by her, or her come out by me?

i dont know why i care but i worry about my daughter. her father has not tried to see her and his parent havn't either! i'm not allowed to talk to him at this time but he can speek with my mother and/or sister to see his child. he's came by twice and i've told him that i wasn't keeping him from his child and that if he wanted to start seeing her again he needed to talk to someone other then me. i found his g/fs email and wrote her(not being mean) saying that my ex can see the child and im not keeping her from him. she didn't write me back. idk what to do! i mean if it was the other way around i'd be trying to see my daughter all the time and wouldn't stop. my daughter is happy being with me and my family. i dont know why i care so much becuz my family gives her all the love she needs i just find it sad her fathers side can't do the same. and his g/f of only four months (who he's cheated all the whole time) are supposed to be getting married. you'd think she'd help him see her.

I'm a plus-size girl and I was wondering where to shop. Where I live, we don't have a Torrid (I've always wanted to shop there), but we do have a Maurices. Since I'm a teen, I want the clothes to be cute, but not revealing. Can anyone recommend any stores? I hate spending $20 on jeans, would never spend $15 dollars on a shirt (can't afford to.)
