Are we meeting a great connection?

I have. Someone at work was talking about how her relative went to some foreign country and was tortured. Now, that's NOT funny, but I laughed nervously because it was so completely unexpected (it was incidental to what she was saying) and then was horrified by my own reaction immediately. Thankfully she didn't hold it against me. Anyone else?

I have always had teaching as a backup career in mind.
I love kids.
I also have wanted to be a chef, but the stresses of the kitchen environment scare me as compared to cooking at home.
I have people who are wanting me to be a teacher, and those who are wanting me to be a chef.
I am not sure what I want to do.
I don't want to be a chef and work in restaurants, but I don't want to dissappoint those who have faith in me for pursuing this career.
I want to stay close to God.
I want to do mission trips in Latin America.
I want to join the Peace Corps.
I want to have a family, and be there for my children
I want to get things right.

Help me see which desires are stronger than the others.
Enlighten me. Help me to figure this out.

I was wondering about the G2 contender and Encore single shot pistols. If I were to get the Encore with a 15" .308 barrel how much recoil would it have? Also, are the Contender and Encore barrels interchangeable so I could put a pistol caliber on it as well? Another question, if I were to want the rifle version, could I buy a factory stock for it and replaci it with the pistol grip? And how much does each cost?

Or the so-called “leading of the holy Spirit?” Hasn’t this led to crazy interpretations, the justification of slavery and the holocaust, prejudices, 30,000 Christian denominations and the disunity of Christendom? Not to mention cults led by people like Jim Jones and David Koresh who tell their followers to commit suicide? Is this Christ’s way of uniting Christians following his prayer for all of us to be one? I certainly don’t think so.

Jesus prayed that His followers would be ONE.
"that they may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us..." (John 17:21)

St. Paul emphasizes that all followers of Jesus Christ should be ONE.
"Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement." (1 Cor 1:10)

Why can’t Fundamentalists, Evangelicals and Pentecostals realize that when we bash each other we are effectively bashing Christianity? We have chosen different paths towards the kingdom of God. Why can’t we just walk the path we have chosen and let the other believers follow theirs for the sake of Christianity?

Your honest, prayerful, and ‘Christian’ opinion will be highly appreciated.

OK, my girlfriend of four months and I were talking today. For the past couple of weeks I think we have been discovering the large differences between us (even though we were best friends for two years). She told me, and I quote, "I don't think we're goin to work." At that moment the bell rang, so I told her we'd have to talk later. She IMs me later, though, and tells me that she loves me and she'll see me tomorrow. Before I talk to her tomorrow, I want to know: does she want to break up or not?
