Does that mean that they can't be prosecuted if the investigation proves that they were unprovoked during the September shootings?

I wonder if those were U.S. Soldiers, would they get granted immunity or would they be rotting in prison right now?

It means they cannot be prosecuted for violating US laws -- and that they cannot be sued in US courts for any harm they have done.

It's amnesty -- blanket immunity -- and it basically allows them to be above the law, because the law cannot punish them for wrongdoings.

it means they are being given a free licence to go into another country and behave in a way that would never be tolerated in the US in effect they would be a law unto themselves at liberty to behave like an Army of savages
its to be hoped that any Government with even the least amount of morals or integrity would not tolerate their military or civilians shooting and killing frightened helpless people for the "crime" of not leaving the area fast enough because they were stuck in a traffic jam

It means the media is once again blowing things out of proportion. The immunity was granted so the company is protected from unjust litigation. There really is nothing to see here. The media should not have even covered the story.
