...the students came to him when they *wanted* the "truth." As christians, aren't you supposed to strive to be like Jesus and be a shining example to those around you? As christians you are commanded to spread the good news but at the same time aren't you supposed to leave it alone when someone rejects it. When I want to share something great with my fellow humans I show them, not just talk about it. If I claim something about myself and my beliefs won't you see it radiate from my inner being. I shouldn't have to talk about from sun up to sun down... you willl see it in all I do. Something to think about if you actually are practicing the greatest commandement of love instead of being self-righteouss and a know it all...

*Not a Christian but I think all Christians can agree with this statement.*

the Yankees, then I feel that Terry Francona should also be fired for not starting Josh Beckett in the crucial game 4 of the series this year vs. the Indians, a must win game, instead he starts 41 year old Tim Wakefield, the knuckleballer. He said he did this because he didn't want to mess up his rotation and wanted guys like Schilling and Dice-K to have full rest for games 6 and 7. Well, wah wah wah, this was a must win, he should've pitched his 20 game winning ace, the youngster Beckett, who might've evened the series at 2-2. Now, the Red Sox backs are against the wall and have to win 3 straight against a very good team. Francona should be fired for this poor decision if the team loses, you agree?

I know that the IRS is supposed to implement and enforce all tax laws and regulations, but who actually decides what the rate is in the first place? Is it the treasury? Is it a person or just an entity? Does he/she have a name or just go by a title? Also, is it different for different taxes (i.e. income tax vs property tax)?

What I mean is, I have seen "parents", even on Y!A who can't spell or properly use grammar and who seem uneducated (or at least, undereducated). Do you feel that children learn more from their parents or more from school? If a child goes to a decent school, but comes home to uneducated parents, which has more influence?(Please explain. No "yes" or "no" answers just to get points.)

Any nutrionists out there/ My daughter has a great diet. She eats most anything from fruits, veg, meat. Anything. She has a well balanced diet and is very healthy. Only been sick once in her young life and that was due to teething.

My problem is my mother thinks I am giving her too much fruit, saying it is very bad for her tummy and that it could end up burning a whole in in tummy with all the acid in it.

I give her raspberries, blueberries, grapes, banana's, mandrin's, apples, melon, pineapple. She also gets cheese, milk, chicken, beef, eggs, brocolli, cauliflower, carrotts, pea, mixed beans, potatoes, etc as I said a very healthy diet. But can that fruit be too much for her.

For an afternoon snack / dessert I would give her about 5 raspberries, 3 strawberries and 6 grapes on average. However she wouldn't have this everyday.

My question is.... Is this too much for a 16 month old. Bear in mind she loves it.

If You were able to Hear Mutts & Moms side of the Story, do you think more attitudes would be changed?

Being Involed in Rescue Myself, My first instinct was to side with the Rescue. I agree that DeGeneres was wrong in placing that pup in a home without contacting the Rescue. But DeGeneres has the Media to give her side of the story, thus making 95% of the population on her side. They both did wrong. Mutts & Moms should have handled it differently to avoid the publicity this is causing, and giving rescue (All Rescue) a bad name.
And DeGeneres should have Adhered to the Agreement she Signed. DeGeneres is where she is, because of Signing Contracts.
I hope this doesn't keep people from adopting a needy pet, rather than a Puppy Mill baby.
All this could have been avoided, with a little common Sense & Tact.

I asked a question the other day: "My toddler has officially started his terrible twos. My family isn't helping. Suggestions?"
It had NOTHING to do with asking for advice on how to discipline my son, yet the last answerer felt it necessary to tell me that I should only be using time outs and no swats.
Annoying, to say the least, considering that we know our child and what works for him and us and she doesn't. Annoying also because that wasn't what the question was about.
She sounded just like my stepmom... "Oh, he's just a baby. You're being too hard on him, blah, blah, blah....."
She cited him hitting the dog as a backing to her methods. What she didn't realize is that he's tried to hit the dog since long before he started getting swats. And a friend of ours uses only time outs, no spankings...her kids hit.
I feel like most kids just go through this phase. I know for a fact it wasn't taught, at least in our case.
What do you do when people tell you how to discipline your child?

My son has gained quite a bit of weight over the last 4 or five months. He's always been tall, thin, and lanky for his age. Now I'm buying him husky sizes. Is this any cause for concern?

I'm not a winer. I'm not a complainer. I'm not even a pessimist. But, lately I just feel like a downer. I feel as if I'm missing the fun in life. I feel anxious and shy. I feel like all of my confidence just disappeared. I transfered to this college in high spirits. My summer was great: old friends from high school and family: two things I love. But now, at my new college, I just feel alone and kind of sad. I've always been a shy person but lately, I feel like I've made no effort in meeting knew people or being social. I guess I don't have the confidence? Well, I'm just wondering if anyone else is feeling similar? Or, if anyone could offer some advice...to give me a better mind set, more confidence, or simply help me find the fun I experienced in life not too long ago.

God destroyed the tower and scattered the people giving each a different language. Now does this mean that there may be some truth to each of the religons across the globe? I mean if he put some in Asia, some in the middle east, and others in the west, does that mean that each of the religons in their respective locations are just pieces of a puzzle to a much larger picture? Sorry if this is a little confusing Im having trouble finding the right words.

I am helping my parents decorate their living room, and they want to do something really colorful and striking. BUT they have maroon couches. What colors can I paint the wall or what accents or theme could I go with that will look good?

Also keep in mind that the kitchen is painted yellow, so I'd like it to be something that won't look horrible next to that.

I would appreciate your help.

ALSO if you know of any websites with tips, advice, or inspiration on interior decorating, let me know!

I drove my 1994 dodge caravan through about 2 ft of water this morning and my engine just died. I tried to start it while still in water, but it did not turn over at all just acted like battery was dead. I had it towed home and now I am scared to start it in fear that I will blow my engine. The oil is clean and there doesn't seem to be any water in the oil.
