I noticed that an earlier question asked about how to tell when we're led by the Holy Spirit. A good question, certainly. But many --- if not *most* of the Christians who answered said, "Oh, there's no way you won't know. I was slain in the Spirit (or subsitute anything you like here, you know the drill) and I knew." But what of the more common, more daily leadings? I don't always find them to be so obvious.

For example, I think we all know the story of Elijah, the earthquake, the mighty wind and the 'still small voice' from 1 Kings 19.

Am I missing something here, fellow Christians? Please do keep in mind that I am fully on board with the moves of the Holy Spirit and am not trying to discount anyone's experiences --- rather that I just think these *are* more the exception rather than the rule. Am I incorrect?

There's truly no rational explanation why I'm even considering this, But, I'm considering joining the (IN) Army National Guard. I'm 19 & in my first year as a pre-med student. That means I have 4-8 years of college ahead of me if all goes as planned. I'm also a peaceful, strong-minded, stubborn, art student. Basically I'm the last person I'd ever picture in the army. I'm going to talk to a recruiter tomorrow. Here's the deal: I DON'T THINK I COULD FIGHT unless it were HERE in the States, protecting the homeland. Or even protecting other innocents. But what's going on in Iraq?! I don't know about that. In addition, I want to finish school un-interrupted! I'm terrified of dying. Definitely don't want that. & not sure I can handle a 12 month deployment. Yet, I want to be an active part of this country in more ways than politics. I don't want to be useless if something were to happen. Please anyone with true Army NG knowledge, please let me know if you think this is the worst idea ever!

I found out that my ex husband molested his little sister when he was a minor and went to jail for it. As a caring mother, this scares the hell out of me! At first it was ok cause he dint call or try to see her but now he is planing on taking me to court for my daughters custody and i was wondering if i could use that or if they would dismiss it cause he was a minor when it happened. On top of it he is very prone to violence. i don't trust him at all with my daughter and he refused visitation rights

My husband and I have been TTC our first child for 27 months now. I got a bladder infection and could not have intercourse for a week (of course I assumed it was ovulation week), so I told myself, I couldn't be pregnant. Well, I looked at a charting website and found out that (if the chart is right) I had sex the day before ovulation! That gave me a little bit of hope.

I usually spot for a few days before I start my AF (which is due in 5 days or so). So far this time, no spotting and no sign of AF. I'm trying not to get excited. I'm planning on taking a test in about 7 days. I've been having some mild symptoms, but I attributed them to the bladder infection. Could this be my month?!?!

...because I'm lazy and stupid.

Maybe I'm becoming a grumpy old man (I'm 32) but is it not obvious to thinking people on this board that when someone asks a question like "Name the 3 greatest technological advancements in the last 100 years," it's pretty d@mn obvious you are lazy and want someone to do your homework for you.

Whatever happened to THINKING? That's what got us out of the trees...using tools and our brains.

So my question is this: is this a symptom of humanity's declining intelligence? Or an increase in our laziness?

I woke up this morning and counted 37 freshly dug mole holes. They have totally ruined my garden. For some reason, they have not gone into any of my neighbours gardens on either side. It is just an ordinary lawn, the same as my neighbours, so what has suddenly attracted them? I need to get rid of them permanently.
I would be most grateful to hear some suggestions.
Thanks.

Toddler has vomiting, fever and when she sleeps she wakes up every 10 minutes crying that her stomach hurts. I have an appointment this afternoon with her pediatrician. Not sure what is wrong. I feel so bad for her she she can't keep anything down. I have tried the 1 tsp of liquid every 15 minutes but she just pukes it up. NO diarrhea thank goodness.

Some people say Christians, for example, are bigots because they use the Bible to justify their beliefs that people are not born gay.

I would like to hear your point of view of how Christians are misusing the Bible and what really makes them a bigot.

Thank you, I look forward to some great answers.

I'm going to lunch so I'll be back in 45 minutes.
