I'm a first year med student, and for the last month I've been trying to decide which of the two books to buy. I can't afford both and I've glanced through both of them and they seem equally good.

I've also read Amazon reviews and I can swear there is a conspiracy as the both have identical review ratings. So please could any med student (not first years prefferably) or lecturers who have had experience with both and have a prefference for one over the other please explain why it's the better of the two.

No silly comments e.g: "Grey's rock period" just sensible concise answers please. If you are a KCL student, I'll be very greateful if you said so because your preffered book maybe more suited to the course.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi everyone.

I'm a little confused. I'm questioning my faith.
I'm a gay university student. I am also Catholic.

What I am most upset about is the fact that the Catholic church sees homosexuality as something to be "fixed." I know for a fact that I didn't have a choice in my sexual orientation. I would rather be straight than be gay, but I know that I can never change. How can the church say that I am going to Hell if I can't do anything to fix the problem?

Homosexuality is a way of life, but it is never CHOSEN. I'm not hurting anyone, so why is it a sin?

I can't decide one day that I'm going to start having urges to have sex with females. How can the church tell me to fall in love with a woman and get married when I will never have these urges for her? I think ignoring my homosexuality would be the biggest sin. I would hurt the woman that I married more than anyone.

And yet, it is still wrong to be gay.

I am something to be fixed.

Thanks for reading.

I have never found a pair of pants that fit me right. I have a small waist compared to my legs. If my pants fit me right in the waist, they are too tight for my thighs, and vice versa. I wear a size 6 waist, but my thighs fit into a size 10. I can't imagine that I'm the only person with this problem! Any advice from people more fashion conscious than myself would really be appreciated.

It seems that many non-Catholic Christians have a mild resentment for Catholics on the basis that they've sort of muddied the world's view on Christ over the centuries. Is this justified, or should there be more of a coalition effort to spread the gospel in a united way without organizational differences? Or are the differences healthy?

I find it humorous / interesting that Brady is being compared w/ Montana. Am I surprised? No. does it even matter? No. but two points I want to expose. Then hear your comments.

1) aren’t many “great” QBs a product of the “system” that they play under (i.e. the coach)? Montana did very little after going to KC. He played under one of the greatest masterminds of offensive football, Walsh. And Young played under Walsh’s protégé. Look at the myriad of positively – impacting assistant coaches of Walsh that have evolved into good head coaches. The football world is so much better because of Walsh. Montana included. Did Montana have good skills? Absolutely. But they couldn’t be showcased, w/o Walsh’s system and tutelage so that Montana could gain such a mutli – dimensional appreciation for the game, (calling audibles, reading coverages, etc.). and it wasn’t just Montana. It was Rice, Craig, etc.

1 John 1-2
"My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have ONE who speaks to the Father in our defense—JESUS CHRIST, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world."

Given the scripture above...

1. Why do you believe that your sins should be forgiven by absolution from a priest/pope/nun/bishop??

2. why do you all replace repentance with the sacrifice of penance?
