the pain is probably due to the person who gave you the shot. its all in the technique. the pain should go away. if there is any redness or heat in the area, i would call my doc.

i was on the depo shot for a long time too and on a few rare occasions the injection site would hurt or be sore for a few days i never had much of a problem but i did notice that it was the way the person gave the shot straight or at an angle that and if you rub on it after the soreness last longer hope this helps

I would talk to the doctor about it.

BTW, have you taken it for longer than four years? You should get a bone density check done as Depo really screws with your system as well as many other horrible health risks.

maybe you should go to a DR. i personally HATE depo and have decided to Not go back for my Next but maybe you should take some pain medicine and see how it goes as long as its Not excruciating and its not w/puss you should be OK.But make sure u consult a DR.
