My diaries. I've been keeping a diary since I was 14 (started them on 1st January 1981) and all but the current one are in a large red metal file box. I do keep meaning to get a fireproof box for them but at least that might provide some protection.
Celia (the current diary) will be joining them in a matter of weeks when she's full (she's lasted three years) and then Elflaeda will take over and Elflaeda has more pages than Celia so she might last the next four years.

It happened to me.
I'd be torn between my 12 string guitar and my great-grandmothers mantle clock.
However, I mourned the loss of a kitten more than anything. I was pretty stoic about the event until I found her body.

The photograph of my son taken a week before he died!
It's my most treasured possession as it's the only photograph anyone has of him!

i would definately want to save pictures.... everything else can be replaced but pictures cannot. i keep a trunk right by the door of my house so that they are easy to grab.

Without a doubt, my piano! I've had it for nearly 50 years, and I'd be very upset if it were destroyed.

My plants....I guess that's more than one item though.
I put a lot of hard work into keeping those buggers alive and I wouldn't want to see them die!
