I woke up this morning and counted 37 freshly dug mole holes. They have totally ruined my garden. For some reason, they have not gone into any of my neighbours gardens on either side. It is just an ordinary lawn, the same as my neighbours, so what has suddenly attracted them? I need to get rid of them permanently.
I would be most grateful to hear some suggestions.
Thanks.

You need to get rid of their food source. The main food supply for moles is Grubs. Purchase a pesticide that kills Grubs and the moles will leave.

Your lawn probably has some grubs or worms in the soil that is attracting the moles. You can go to a garden center and find products to put on the lawn that will kill the grubs thus eliminating their food source and other products that will repel the moles.

Cats like to kill moles but won't eat them.

Ditto the other answer. Get rid of their food source and they will go somewhere else.

You will need to use a pesticide in the near term. Long term you can use a product called Milky Spore to eliminate grubs. Milky Spore takes a couple years to get established.

Put used cat peed litter in the holes. The moles hate the smell of ammonia and they move on. Its works great I had this problem once and they haven't come back.

Put some hot pepper on the food and drop it in the hole. This works and it is safe for any kids that might be around. Try a cracker they don't like it hot. Good Luck it worked for me

For one hole you can "fill" it with fresh dog feces, but in your case you would have to contract with a kennel. And this doesn't really kill them, just takes over their territory.
