I drove my 1994 dodge caravan through about 2 ft of water this morning and my engine just died. I tried to start it while still in water, but it did not turn over at all just acted like battery was dead. I had it towed home and now I am scared to start it in fear that I will blow my engine. The oil is clean and there doesn't seem to be any water in the oil.

Yes you probably hydro locked the motor which means you also may have bent a rod or two. The 3.3, and 3.8 are tough engine. The only ones that I have had to replace were hydro locked. Remove the plugs and spin the engine over several times. Put the plugs in and start the engine. If any rods are bent( because you can't compress water), the engine will knock and will have to be taken apart and bent rod(s) replaced. Sorry, But it dose happen. Good luck!

So, pull the spark plugs and give it a couple of cranks. then put the plugs back in and try starting it.

Actually, 2 feet of water should not have reached the engine intake. You likely shorted out some wiring.

If their is no water in the oil it can't be waterlocked.

It is probably already hydro-locked, the way you are describing it.
