Sure, why not? They're family members....
I'd get them used to just sleeping on the furniture, though, instead of playing on it. It won't take long to correct this... wiping up spills will be easier, but repairing holes will not.
Enjoy your new furniture!

I have 6 dogs in my house along with a leather couch, two large leather chairs, and a leather ottomon. My furniture is a year old and still looks great. I'd ask the furniture store about the quality of the leather. Mine was expensive but still looks new. The dogs lay on it all day.

Yes, you can--in fact, I recommend it. After my parents' show dogs ruined yet another upholstered sofa, they switched to leather. Their furniture lasts much longer now (we were replacing the couch every 3 years or so)!
If you do get leather furniture, make sure to get a high (or thick) grade of leather, or a "weathered" look that will hide toenail scratches. Also, talk to the furniture store about having the leather treated to protect it against spills and stains.

Yes you can. Just test the texture of the leather. I have one leather sofa from Macy's that was pricey, and it scratches at the slightest touch. I have another leather sofa that was cheap and from Monkey Wards 10 years ago. It doesn't have a mark on it! That's after 5 kitties and 1 VERY crazy lab trample it day in and day out, and daddy plays fetch and keep away with dog toys. Doggy leaps onto it, over it, whatever, and it is fine. Go figure.

I have leather furniture with 3 dogs. A lot of it has to do with the way you train them. Let them know that the furniture is YOUR terroritory, not theirs. Don't leave them in the house alone until they are trained. Good luck to you.

I've known many folks that have leather and dogs, and have not had any problems.
Key thing - make sure the dog's toenails are kept trimmed at all times. A long nail is a problem for any material, but it will definitely puncture the leather.

Umm umm unless you dont want tears or scratches on your leather furniture, i wouldnt think it be practical. Their claws may not be as sharp as acats, but they still can do some damage. No good covering up your leather furniture if you get 1, as you wont be able to see it. They also need specail care, adn you be forever cleaning it and trying to keep it in very good condition. so I.M.O. its not practical with dogs or even cats come to that.

I can't believe some of these answers...
We had leather, no problems. Easier to clean. We recently bought (still waiting to get it from factory) a fabric cream colored sectional sofa, not looking forward to cleaning that!

well i think that you should not have leather furniture if your dogs are going to jump on them unless they are little dogs and short haired.
