I was catholic for over half my life. I was NEVER taught good works alone save you. I was taught that you must accept Jesus as your savior, you must repent your sins and you must do good works to reinforce the first two. I was taught Jesus died for my sins and the least I could do it pay a little of that back to the world. So where is it taught that good works alone save you? And why do people keep insisting that Catholics believe this?

I was just wondering, I have heard a few Puerto Ricans from time to time say, "Viva Puerto Rico, wepa!" What does that mean? I mean, I know that "Viva Puerto Rico" means "Long live Puerto Rico". But what does "wepa" mean? Is it something specific to Puerto Ricans?

Also, what does "no mames, guey!" mean?

my boyfriend and I have been talking about marriage - which led to an argument that has been ongoing. I really love this man, and I know that he loves me. However, I wanted to get married in 2009, he wants to get married asap. I want us to be around each other for a year going to marriage counseling and spending time together before we marry. He said he compromised for December of 08, but didn't mention that until we broke up. Then he wanted to move to washington after marriage. I have tried to compromise with him in many ways - he feels i'm not compromising, and I feel he's become different - he's really pushing his ideas and opinions - so I broke it off because I couldn't imagine saying yes with him being like this - I still love him, where do we go from here?

tomorrow they passed a law saying it was illegal to eat strawberry jam on wheat bread. you could still eat strawberry jam, and you could still eat wheat bread, you just can't put the strawberry jam on the wheat bread without breaking the law. but you really, really love strawberry jam on wheat bread, and think this law is ridiculous. would you: a) continue eating your strawberry jam on wheat bread and just hope you never get caught, or b) give up eating strawberry jam on wheat bread because it's illegal and it's wrong to break the law?
basically, do you think it's wrong to break a law that shouldn't exist but does because of other people's ignorance?

In Hinduism/ Sanatan Dharma we have atleast one GOD/GODDESS per person. And the GOD/GODDESSES have their exclusive carriers like BULL, PEACOCK, RAT. Animal like COWs are reverred being a source of wealth for it's milk etc. what about chicken ? it's food of the millions at the most affordable price, eggs are considered the most compact divine food. why this bird could not find a venerable place in Hindu way of like . Any theory?

i like cliff burton and les claypool , claypool is really good in slapping , which i wish could be better like him

but my favourite is Tetsu from L`arc~en~ciel , his damn good , the groove he created is so awesome. i been hearing his band music for 8 years

Can any sort of plastic be recycled? I have a bin liner full of plastics from milk cartons to carrier bags to take to the recycling centre. Will they accept all types or just certain type? Thanks.x
