Don't you find this to be a terribly naive thing to say?

You can't put the genie back in the bottle in my opinion.

My boss (Baptist minister) and I (of Baptist faith) disagree on whether animals go to heaven. In my belief I think heaven will consist of all the things that make one happy. Therefore my cat will be there. He says animals don't have souls and won't be a part of it. Comments?

Radiactive Decay Half Life (T1/2)

In a collection of a great many identical radioactive isostopes, the half- life (T1/2) of the sample is the time it takes for half of the samples to decay.

Question: If the half life of a certain isotope is 4 years, what fraction of a sample of that isotope will remain after 12 years.

I studied comparative world religion in college as a minor because I was curious. I find the same themes in all of them. A majority have the same common ground, its just the small details that are different.

Do you think that God has tried to contact us in many different ways and times and we have just interpreted the message differently? Do you think all these faiths are really for the same God?

I dont have much of a relationship with my parents, especially my mother. This comes from their neglect as grandparents towards my son, whom I love more than anything. Recently my father has become ill and is now unable to walk great distances. I offered to buy him a scooter (mobility buggy) and he did not want one initially. Now he has agreed and it arrives tomorrow. I have a feeling that my mother wants to use it more than he does, which I suppose had to happen.

Anyway, I know from experience that my parents are liable to use this buggy then decide they do not want or need it. In the past they have sold or given away things like this that I have helped them out with once they tired of them.

In this instance (as the buggy is expensive) I do not want my parents to sell it or give it away. Hence, I am going to tell them that it is on loan to them from me until they decide they do not want it anymore. Is this wrong?

She probably was one. I've been yelled at by crude slob bosses. I spent a summer in the hospital with a paint gun accident, almost cut my arm off with a chainsaw, and got electricuted and has a near death experience. Got $3K for the last thing. How do you get 11 million for being called a witch with a B?

A coworker of mine mentioned today that there is no law on the books that require that you to have an identification card of some kind on you in California. He went on to add that if a police officer asks you for ID that you can refuse and that he has to get a "bench warrant" to proceed further, or let you go. This guy is notorious for suggesting such things (not to mention, the source of all sorts of conspiracy theories/urban legends that are true/etc.).

Does anyone know if this is true and, if so, where I could find it online to shut this guy up?

Thanks in advance.

Every time I turn on the TV theres someone with gential herpes telling me that they are living a full life, and good for them. But, There they go throughout the commercial rubbing their herpes all over park swings, white sandy beaches, dancing through fruit orchards, riding mopeds, sailing, it really seems that they are more concerned with spreading good images of the herp, come on can there really be that many people with herpes to warrant playing the commerical constantly.

Why does sulphur powder react slowly with silver metal, but sulphide ions react quickly to form a precipitate with silver ions? Does it have to do with the states (solids vs. ions) or surface area?

I was hired for an awesome job and started on Sept. 25th.
My prayers were answered after going thru a financial crisis.
TODAY....I was flat out told that "It wasn't a good match".
I was still in training, and was supposed to be for the next 2-3 weeks. I didn't even get the chance to proove my skills after only being there just over a week. I didn't get a chance for anything. What could have provoked them to let me go after just a week. I was never late, I seemed to blend in with the other office girls.....I just don't get it??? I am so beside myself right now. I cried my eyes out all morning. By what I can see, I was doing fine with the training. Has this ever happened to anyone?? Does anyone have some words of encouragement? I feel completely low right now. DAMNIT

I live in London and our home has recently become infested with cockroaches. Although we had the place treated as soon as we saw one, they have returned. I am told the best thing to use is boric acid. Where can I buy this product in the UK (London)? I need to buy it soon as we have a little baby and I want to get rid of this problem. Thanks.
