Every time I turn on the TV theres someone with gential herpes telling me that they are living a full life, and good for them. But, There they go throughout the commercial rubbing their herpes all over park swings, white sandy beaches, dancing through fruit orchards, riding mopeds, sailing, it really seems that they are more concerned with spreading good images of the herp, come on can there really be that many people with herpes to warrant playing the commerical constantly.

It's actually more like 1 in 4 women and 1 in 5 men have genital herpes according to the CDC (Center for Disease Control & Prevention).
Also, you can NOT get genital herpes from a swing, a beach, a bicycle, a toilet seat, etc. You need to have DIRECT skin to skin contact with the infected area of someone who has the virus in order to spread it. Genital herpes is almost always spread by sex (vaginal, oral, or anal).
And, just because someone has genital herpes doesn't mean they are in constant pain or can't have fun. When a person with genital herpes is not having an outbreak they can do all those things they show on commercials like riding a bike, dancing, or going to the beach. They can live completely normal lives like going to school, work, or having fun just like anyone else who doesn't have the virus.
Please don't be so judgmental. There are a lot of great people out there who have genital herpes and they shouldn't be looked down on or looked at like they are "diseased".
Take care!

Yes, there isn't any. Herpes is caused by a virus. Actually, there is little cure for viruses nowadays. The only thing that you can generally do in the case of a viral infection is strengthen the immune system and hope it fights it off. Not with Herpes, the immune system can't win against it. Thus you only get to treat the symptoms. Once you're infected, it stays with you for life. So don't get infected.
Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/TreatmentsHERPES2o15mgd8
Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

Yes. One in four women in the US have genital herpes, and 1 in 5 men. By the time they hit middle age, 1 in 3 Americans have it. It is most common among African Americans - half of them have genital herpes.
And 8 out of 10 people have oral herpes, which is not so different than genital herpes, indeed it can easily infect the genitals if it is passed there through oral sex - that is how I caught genital herpes. Oral herpes can also warrant suppressive medication if it recurs a lot.
By middle age over 95% of people have one of the two herpes viruses. It is more common to be infected with herpes than not. So yes it is that common.
They should spread more good images of herpes. Oral herpes, which is often caused by the same virus as genital herpes, as in my case, does not have a fraction of the stigma of genital herpes, and its symptoms are exactly the same. The stigma of genital herpes is really hard to deal with - especially when my boyfriend can mention his cold sores in public and no one will judge him or not want to be near him - it is vastly out of proportion. People have the mistaken idea that somehow genital herpes is physically 'worse', when it isn't. In fact, the reason people don't realise how common it is is because most people have it so mildly they have no idea that they have it, most people have no symptoms at all, and they don't even bother testing you for it on an std screen, so people only know they have it if they have diagnosed symptoms. How can it be so bad when most people don't even get symptoms?
People are so ignorant about it. More than half of genital herpes cases are caused by the 'cold sore' virus that causes oral herpes, and it is actually much less infectious when it is genital (you are more likeyl to get hsv1 from oral sex from someone with cold sores than from intercourse with someone with it genitally), but people accept the oral variety and run from the genital infection, which is ridiculous.
And genital herpes is only transmitted by contact with the genitals, so they aren't rubbing it anywhere.

Unfortunately yes and are you sure you are 5 out of the 6? Do you really know your status, have you been tested? You could be the 1 out of 6 who passes it along without ever knowing. Hmmmm.. If you need information about testing locations I have included a link, you can also find support on this club if you test positive.
