1. no evidence (well there isn't any)

2. Occam's Razor (God is much harder to explain than any
scientific theories, therefore the theories are most likely the correct explanations)

3. evolution (God didn't create each species all at once, there was one common ancestor some 4 billion years ago which evolved)

4. contradictions and fallacies in Holy Books (there's a lot!)

5. the number of diverse religions in the world (not every religion can be right according to them)

6. poor morality and violence shown in Holy Books (isn't God supposed to be perfect?)

7. The super-ego projection: A psychological explanation as to why people invent gods just as a perfect version of themselves. That's why most gods are men (patriarchal) and the same ethnicity of the believers.(Indian gods are Indian!)

8. "Putting god in the gaps": people like to explain the unexplainable with something equally unexplainable (ie. God did it!). This is how religion began in the first place

i am in my late 20's and would like to have a child in the next 3-4 years but i was diagnosed last week with coronary artery disease and so now i have a million questions on if my heart could even handle pregnancy...i know i will have surgery soon so hopefully it will be under control but even so, is it considered safe to have children? i also was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse/regurg when i was 12 and have been told that it would be borderline for me having children just because of that, so now i have CAD to add to it.
any personal experience/knowledge you have to share is very much appreciated! :)

What should I say?
I would like to consider a Female single sex college such as Smith, but I don't know how to tell my dad. Every time I bring up the subject he asks "Why would you want to go there?" Then he tries to be all jokey and say, "Are you trying to tell us you're lesbian?" I am not, I want to go because of the leadership oppurtunities and the academics but he won't listen. But mostly because I need to find myself and I want a place to do that. If anybody could help that would be great.

hey guys,well im having some parakeet issues right now. i have a 5 month old male parakeet who used to be a very tame and sweet bird and is now starting to bite me which he has never done before so why the sudden change in behavior? also how can i train him not to bite? ive read that you can say no in a loud firm voice and cover their cages up with something to train them not to bite and ive done this the past 3 days and he's still biting how can i get him to stop?also he's been doing the weirdest thing where he stands in one spot and then leans over and then starts to flap his wings real fast like he's trying to fly but he does that all the time now and then he will start screeching real loud why is he doing that?

OMG, I'm not bragging or anything my my Dad is a lawyor and my family is really wealthy but they still make me pay for things! And this just started happening recently! He used to give me his credit card whenever I needed to go shopping! He bought me a car for my sweet 16. Now all of a sudden he is making me pay for my cell phone, gas, and he won't pay for me to go shopping anymore! I didn't do anything to cause this punishment! I am not a bit*ch to my parents or anything! Its definitely not fair! Right?!

in the past few days we have seen our dear friend Gnostic , bravely facing her last precious days in this life
now we have St Teresa another dear lady living her last moments as fully as possible

I am both sad and amazed at the strength they are showing
it really puts things into perspective
what are we doing guys ?
arguing over who is right and who is wrong ... mine is better than yours
life is precious
each day is another day we have to love and care for each other
each moment is one moment nearer our own last days
spend them wisely , make a great impression on this earth
so that when your day comes , people will remember you and say ....
they were wonderful , they loved everyone , never a bad word was spoken from their lips
is this not how you wish to be remembered ?

I'm in a situation where I've been leapfrogged by a co-worker. He gets a lot more responsibility than me, although I have been there longer. He also asks for my assistance, and I feel like I'm a being a sucker by lending it to him. He gets the credit for the work, even if I figured out the problem. Should I stop helping him when he asks for help, as I am in competition with him for advancement?
