"George Bush's presidency has been distinguished by nothing so much as his consistent disregard for the Constitution.

He wages war without required Congressional declarations.

He orders spying that is in direct conflict with the 4th Amendment. He permits tortures and extraordinary renditions that violate the 8th Amendment,

Above all, the President disregards the basic requirement of shared governance. He shows little respect for the separation of powers, let alone for the system of checks and balances that requires Congress to participate in domestic and foreign-policy decision making. "

What do the Yahoo population in the US feel about the status of the Constitution in the light of the Bush Administration. I'm curious how republican's feel, as I perceived (from Ireland) that they held the constitution as almost sancrosanct? (right to bear arms et al?)

in a new directive nothing must be worn below the elbow(rings watches etc.) in order to eliminate superbugs. Watta lotta crapola!!! The things to do in order to help would be 1. Make sure that doctors, like nurses,wash their hands after each patient and 2. bring back the NHS employed domestics who took a pride in "their" ward and were part of the team and not paid rubbish money, expected to do too much work in too short a time with no sick pay,in order to line the pockets of contractors. There, I've said it. What do you think?

**First off, I know this doesn't belong in the Politics section but I DO prefer the views and opinions of the politics users (from any political spectrum.) Thanks**

I just read an article (see above) that says that some cities are starting to crack down on people who wear sagging pants. Some say it is a good idea, others say it is an example of racial profiling (young black men are more often than not the ones you see with the saggy pants.)

Do you think law enforcement officials are overeacting?

CHECK OUT HOW A LOUISIANA TOWN IS HANDLING IT:
Proposals to ban saggy pants are starting to ride up in several places. At the extreme end, wearing pants low enough to show boxers or bare buttocks in one small Louisiana town means six months in jail and a $500 fine.

Your thoughts please? Thanks!

I have a rat that gave my husbands snake a rude awakening when he tried to eat him. It ended up with the snake and rat sharing living space....i have grown attached to it,named it,and I want him/her to live with us as a pet. i've never had a hamster or anything like that. Is it possible to have a rat for a pet?

Which of these massive American cities would you prefer, and why?

You can rank them too, if you like. For instance, my ranking from most to least preferred is:
1. New York. The economic, cultural, and social capital of the free world! I'm not trying to incite any altercations; heck, I'm not even from NYC. But, if you can't find it in NYC, do you really need it? Not to mention, the people are a very unique breed--rude yet sweet, kind yet brutally blunt, helpful yet very rushed. (Side note: I know this sounds cheesy, but I found the '07 "We're 4 New York" commercials from NBC4 on YouTube. Love 'em!)
2. Chicago: I'm sorry, but this city has some of my least favorite (and the meanest) people in the universe. The city still has many great qualities, but I just don't have a very good impression of the place.
3. Los Angeles: the Pacific coastline is the only thing that impresses me. Hollywood's a dump, downtown is boring, and the smog is horrific. At least there's a beach.

The theme is "Classic Chicago Steakhouse with a modern twist."

Everything is already decided, for the most part, but we need help with the following:

(1) Need a dipping sauce for Maryland CrabCakes;

(2) Need an idea for a Seared Sea Scallop passed appetizer that isn't bacon-wrapped;

(3) Need classic potato and vegetable side dish ideas to accompany a Dijon Crusted Filet Mignon;

(4) Need ideas for a Sea Bass Entree with Rice and Vegetable; and

(5) Need ideas for a classic Iceberg Wedge Salad(what to put on it).

Thank You. My fiance and I are going to submit these ideas to the caterer for our tasting.
