"Sen. Barbara Boxer had been chair of the Senate's Environment Committee for less than a month when the verdict landed last February. "Warming of the climate system is unequivocal," concluded a report by 600 scientists from governments, academia, green groups and businesses in 40 countries. Worse, there was now at least a 90 percent likelihood that the release of greenhouse gases from the burning of fossil fuels is causing longer droughts, more flood-causing downpours and worse heat waves, way up from earlier studies."

How can anyone use this pretense to show one's point as being conclusive?

600 scientist from 40 countries = 15 scientist per country.
15 per country from gvmt, academia, green groups, and business = >4 per group per country.

How hard is it to find 4 people who either believe or profit in some way from the threat of global warming?

And why would anyone use a political committee to show scientific proof?

Is your philosophy of LIFE, or the lack thereof, starving you and keeping the refrigerator door locked, your creativity frozen, and your mind malnourished?

Or have you found a way to place your philosophy of LIFE on the oven, and cook something nutritious?

Have you ever had a satisfying philosophical meal? If so, what was it? Did you have to select from the Y!A menu? And/Or did you serve yourself your own philosophical meal at home?

Like the gays who abused the boy because authorities too scared to investigate for fear of being called prejudiced? Like the criminal who is not stopped for fear of the victim or the police being called a racist?

Whats with all the lame "disprove" questions today? Why can't ANYONE figure out how STUPID of an argument that is? You can't disprove __________ with no evidence to support it, so it must be right!

Honestly, is that what holds some people to a belief system? The fact that nobody can prove it wrong?
Am I just being naive or is that a really bad reason to adhere to ANYTHING?

Ok so here's the deal....my 10 year old son has been picked on from the get-go. He'd rather read a book than throw a football, he's tall, skinny and awkward, he's in the gifted classes, and not at all athletic. He's been the target of 'bullies' and judgements (what kid isn't, really?) from kindergarten. He's never let it get to him, surprisingly, I guess logically he's smart enough to know that it doesn't matter what others think, he's comfortable with himself.
Well, for his 10th bday he asked for a mohawk, everyone is telling me he'll get picked on and made fun of and I shouldn't let him do it...but my thought is - well if it's not the mohawk it'll be something else. I've already made up my mind but I was curious about others opinions. Just got me thinking I suppose - about other people's perceptions of kids with mohawks.
(And yes, I already checked with his school and they allow 'hawks as long as they aren't colored and they aren't more than 3" above their head)

I don't know what to do. I delivered 3.5 months ago and working very hard to reduce fat. Since 2 weeks I have been working out 5 days a week, cardio - 5times a week, weight lifting-3 times a week. And I have only lost 1 pound. its so unfair that after so much hard work I only lost 1 pound in 2 weeks. I have no clue what am I doing wrong. I have a drink or 2 once in a while and have carbs only once a day. I eat salads and oatmeal for breakfast. What can I do to reduce 2 pounds a week?

...may be so, but who thinks there are other varying factors that sway this "fact".

Could it be that many of these statistics come from lower class, poor communities where these girls and their families can not afford abortions?

Go into the mostly white, upperclass neighborhood high schools and ask how many girls had their families (or their rich boyfriends) pay for one, or more abortions. They may not say, so why don't you go to the doctor's hospitals, and clinics, and ask how many rich, white, teenage girls had abortions funded by their parents/and or boyfriends?

Opinions?

Oh yeah, keep the racist and ignorent comments off - this is a legitimate topic concerning legitimate and educated comments for discussion.

I was behind a "mini" van yesterday and the only kid of the 7 in the van that had its seatbelt on was the baby ... the only reason I even noticed was because the mom was on the cell phone and cut me off without even realizing it. We were doing 45 mph at the time and when I looked through their back window I could see them bouncing all over the place.

What should we do if we see something like that? I mean, it isn't exactly an emergency ... yet. But we all know what a tragedy it will be when (not if, when) eventually the mom gets in a wreck and kids are tossed all over.

I don't want to see her go to jail or anything lol, but someone in authority needs to demand she buckle those kids in!!!

Sorry for all of those that had lost loved ones but they are in a better place now in heaven. I was on my way to my CDL class "A" license class near the Pentagon saw lots of thick black smoke. went to shoney's & watched the news over & over again. when I finally got my mom on cellphone she taped 6-8 hours of CNN of everything. I didn't lose anyone I loved in that tragic event.

it ended ubruptly, she wanted to maintain friends..i told her i was not ready i wasn't as strong as her i still felt too much and i was happy she was IN love again, she told me she had feelings for him and that he means alot to her and that i deserved to have happiness..i respected that and stopped contact since, her friends say she speaks highly of me, probably still even cares...i dunno about that..if she did wouldn't she contact me instead of playing coy and waiting for me to contact her?she lives in the same apartment complex as we did before she is still in the area as we were before my friends are now her friends i mean i dunno but if i do go back home i definately run into her again somehow..do u think she still cares? or am i settling myself up for failure?
