Last time I did that I saw a pair of legs sticking out from under a car that was up against a tree.
Being a first aider I made the driver stop so I could see if they needed help.
It was a guy changing his tyre as he had had a blowout.
I started to ignore things after that.

No need to rubberneck.
I just stop dead in my tracks if I want to look at something.
Most people look, there's nothing to be ashamed of it is human nature, morbid curiosity in some instances

I was just in one the other day, I had my 2 year old with me, I slid, it was slick out, and I hit a 3-4 foot ditch and flipped the Explorer and it slid on the top and then I flipped back over, me and my daughter were both fine, I got out and got her out of there, and got help, but yes, there were tons of people who stopped to see if we were okay, and when I see one I just have to look too, by the time I see one though, they already have help there

It's pretty normal for another human to gawk at the demise of another human, and probably be thankful it wasn't them.
I try not to look though and drive along because some of the things I've seen scared me to know it could happen to me.

Guilty! I think it is just human nature...the worse the accident looks the slower I will drive by and try to discern what happened...

Of course. It is hard not to look at an accident scene. You always want to see what may have happened and what the wreckage looks like.

No I have learned not to do that. Being a truck drivers wife and been on the road with him that's not the thing to do. You tie up traffic that way. Its best to keep movin'. Sure I might glance as I go by but I hurry up and keep on movin'.
