it ended ubruptly, she wanted to maintain friends..i told her i was not ready i wasn't as strong as her i still felt too much and i was happy she was IN love again, she told me she had feelings for him and that he means alot to her and that i deserved to have happiness..i respected that and stopped contact since, her friends say she speaks highly of me, probably still even cares...i dunno about that..if she did wouldn't she contact me instead of playing coy and waiting for me to contact her?she lives in the same apartment complex as we did before she is still in the area as we were before my friends are now her friends i mean i dunno but if i do go back home i definately run into her again somehow..do u think she still cares? or am i settling myself up for failure?

Always gather keywords: She said you deserved HAPPINESS so the relationship ended. She couldn't offer you this then so what would be so different. This can turn into a ugly roller coaster ride in which in the end you will be sick.
Leave well enough alone. She was in a relationship with you but found the time to fall in love with someone other than you.
Yeah she cares but the doesn't change the fact that she has the power to Yo-Yo you again if you put yourself at her disposal.

she doesn’t care for you that way. but she respects you enough to talk highly of you instead of saying bad things behind your back. saying good things about you doesn’t mean she likes you. If she wanted you back, she would have texted you because she remembers telling you that she wants you to be happy by looking for someone else who suit you (but she’s not the one to do it) let go. I’m sorry to say this.

Her friends can say she talks highly of you all they want. What matters is if she says these things to you and from what you've written she doesn't and hasn't. Just leave her be and move on.

Yes. She cares for you but not enough to be committed to you and wants you to be free to find someone who can give you the love you deserve.

It's impossible to answer for us if you cannot answer yourself. But to be sure it is a failure just try and don't be afraid. Otherwise you will never know.
